Hi anybody know any alternatives to Samsung's cases that wakes up the Note 4 when the cover is removed? No dumb cases pls.
Edit: I'm happy with those new batch of Google's apps, especially Drive. They improved the pdf part of it and now no more lags/blurry pdf. Previously Lonely Planet Europe Phrasebook 4th Edition (33 MB) can't even be loaded properly i.e. missing pictures, missing pages and stuttering.
Well, that was on Nexus 5 anyway.
Info for those who do not know: APK Mirror is a good source for latest APK. At least the Google's ones.

.nomedia definitely works. Just make sure that the source of the file is a text file i.e. you can create a .nomedia from any file, but AFAIK, only .nomedia from text works. But idk if empty text or not empty text matter in this case.
I can create a .nomedia from an pdf, xls, doc etc. I just save-as it as .nomedia. But then it won't work, AFAIK.

Managed to backup EFS using cmd based on this tutorial, http://goo.gl/Qs4F8Y. 1. Ensure ADB driver is properly installed, http://goo.gl/wj7ZTz2. Root, http://goo.gl/g2xNxy3. Install Busybox, http://goo.gl/GKFNXD4. Connect GN4 to a PC 5. Win + R, cmd.exe 6. Go to \platform-tools\ 7. Copy paste these line by line CODE adb devices
adb shell
su
tar zcvf /sdcard/efs-backup.tar.gz /efs 8. DONE. |

Thanks for the additional steps. Learned another new things today. EDIT: You should put the link to the original tutorial though. I found it here: http://goo.gl/oVqwBsFugly. That's the reason I refused to install the app. I pretty much avoid ugly apps. OCD I guess. A little story here; I jumped ship from iPhone 4 to Galaxy Nexus several years back. To my horror, WhatsApp was not HOLOYOLO that time. I refused to install WhatsApp and without hesitation bought an iPhone 4 again. JUST BECAUSE THE UI OF WHATSAPP. TLDR: Not installing any ugly apps. Those who would like to freeze any app, and doesn't need whatever extras in Titanium Backup, below is a way to freeze apps. Me myself prefer to do the hard way rather than using any fugly apps. CODE pm list packages

So I decided to install Xposed because of Greenify and Unicon (for its' new beta) Now I read somewhere Xposed borks S Health and Private Mode. I checked XSecureStorage will correct this issue, based on this link: http://repo.xposed.info/module/ma.wanam.xshealtIs this still true? From XDA I found out XSecureStorage fixes S Health, but not Private Mode or the other way around. I won't install Wanam however, as I don't need any extras from the app. Any input? |
