PAS MP has proposed that Malaysia develops the world's first and largest Al-Quran theme park, which he believes will draw in more tourists and bring pahala (blessings) to the country.
Ahmad Marzuk Shaary (PAS-Bachok) said building the theme park would be more beneficial than the proposed RM30mil project to construct the world's second-largest printing centre in Putrajaya.
"I propose for this allocation to be changed and used for the construction of such a theme park.
"In Malaysia, we already have Legoland, Sunway Lagoon water theme park and the Lost World of Tambun.
"It is now time that the entire world comes to Malaysia to learn the Quran in the form of a theme park," he said when debating the Budget 2015 speech in the Dewan Rakyat Tuesday.
Ahmad Marzuk also suggested that the theme park be divided into 113 parts to symbolise the 113 sura (chapters) in the Quran.
