Your original choice of purchasing a R410A air con is a good choice, since in future you can just plug and play R410A air conditioners. R22 is being phased out. Sure, you can install R410A air con using R22 pipes but it is wrong specification. Also the gas itself is different, don't think you can mix.

Just like how you can pour Minyak Masak Cap Helang into your car engine. Sure it won't explode, sure it can work for a while. But its not the right specification and bound to fail. You got to ask yourself, do you really want to do it?

cant think of why need change whole piping with already r410a piping installed., couldnt be the gas still remain in the pipe right...if change to r410a aircon for sure whole set indoor unit and compressor also change to new one right..

in my case, currently r22 piping, my contractor even told me in future can change to inverter/r410a aircon but need to do proper welding.. dont know how true is that blink.gif

Actually can install with R22, but in the warranty won't be able to claim, if they found the user made used with existing R22 copper pipeline

but if the house does come with pre installed piping(for R22) which is nvr been use. then i can used it for R410?
as it is new and no gas inside.
if can confirm it is 0.6mm then it would be better isnt it ?

as i don wish to rehack the whole thing.

If confirm the contractor given for at least 0.6mm should be find.

If less than 0.6mm, like 0.55mm will be leak at bending area, But I never tried before..

Cause my new Aircon when installed at same time must be used the new Cooper pipe.. Cause if we're using the existing pipe the cost still there and install new pipe the cost also be the same, why not using new pipes.
