Plot
Owari no seraph takes place in a world where an unknown virus has killed the entire human population except for children. Those children were then enslaved by vampires. The manga centers on Yūichirō Hyakuya, a human who dreams of becoming strong enough to kill all vampires.

Ok ok only, not too good but not too bad either. Really felt like watching akame ga kill / black bullet.

1 thing I like about the adaptation is how the BG arts capture the mood of the story (iinm hand drawn)

other than that, gonna reserve my judgement after few episodes like any other manga->anime adaptation
plus, I can see how far they will go for this cour and that might slightly affect the pacing

but it a good show of vengeance against vampire

lots ppl rarely reads the original source material before the anime adaptation aired. instead, they might hunt for it after the anime ends. that's the fun of comparing reactions between those who knows about some anime before (bcos of original material) vs freshly new people who watch anime 1st

well some ppl watch it and start comparing to last season anime...when apparently it exist waaay before them....haha...the manga does seem bland now...so yea

yeh man, the anime will bring it up or down! will see!

Sawano did do AoNoExorcist OST as well.

took me a while to get used to the animation style but once I did, I really enjoyed it.

plot wise it pretty similiar to ao no exorcist and another vampire manga...

i dun see much similarities at all actually besides the initial setting.
reading more about it, i see even less similarities (i do read AoNoExorcist manga)

to me at least...well i dun wanna spoiler so we will leave it at that...

i didnt read too far in ao no exorcist coz it get too bland toward the end...

seraph of the end too is getting rather bland from serious > school life sort of action

first episode...

lots of kids dying... got potential..

well the training part/ have hidden powers/ signature weapon is your typical shounen trope.
one thing i would really hate is the "high school" part (the preview for episode 2 didnt excite me) with many of the manga/ anime.

there is a "high school" like setting instead it called as a military training center anyway loool

well, since the virus wipe out most human ( age 13 and above) at the begining of the series and left behind kids and sum bunch overage adult that immune...typical shounen manga...teen save the world

Ahhh... first episode was alright mainly because of the production quality, but plot wise the next episode preview looked unappealing. I can dig it if the school scenes are mostly flashback rather than full on usual school setting. Since it got great quality in the first episode, Im going to give it 2-4 more episodes.

from reddit, it seems like the school setting is temporary only (i hope it is true)...

Nice, I hope the quality is similar throughout the anime too, last season the same studio made rolling girls, and the quality is good up to the end.

Sometimes when the OP is nice, I would alt+tab and do some other thing while listening to the OP song and then alt+tab back to start watching. If it's bad or not my cup of tea, then I just skip it.

Its alright I guess, I pretty much watch the series because of the production quality and I really like the background arts. The story is meh and the moment of tension is not that great since the group pretty much over powered except for certain situation because they need to show the FAMILY! and FRIENDSHIP! scenes. Give it a 2-3 episodes watch and decides yourself.

you forgot to mention awesome music by Hiroyuki Sawano which make the anime bearable to watch. LOL

sad to say she the only reason im watching this anime and holding my manly hands from punching the MC

Looks like the budget/time is not enough now, so many shaking stills effect in episode 10, but the art quality is still alright.

the manga is pretty good especially the next arc.
anime have its strengths over the manga in the background art, so i am still going to watch the anime as I know things get really good later on

Seems so, it should be during the winter season. Series is just alright, Im probably going to continue watching this.

Man... The last eps doesnt felt like a last eps to me at all. So when the date appears I was totally surprised. Didnt know the show is only 12 eps. Thought they at least continue till the part where they train on how to use their powers.

2-cour anime. 12 episode, break, 12 episode
