hi guys,

i am planning to purchase a nissan 370z in the coming 2 months. i wanna ask anybody here have any experiences with this car, and its cost of ownership? (more or less la). any hidden costs that i should be aware of other than the basic fuel / roadtax/ insurance/ tyres? model purchased will most probably be a 2011/2012 version.

before i get bashed, i would like to clarify, I am aware of the roadtax / insurance / fuel cost for this car, and am able to afford to take care of those, so please refrain from asking me whats my income and so forth.

thank you!

I think it is better you go to your preferred workshop to ask, it may varied shop by shop. Beside the standard item like filters and engine oil, you should also ask for brake, radiator, air-con.....

In a way, I felt the 370Z is neither here or there, in fact the GT-R eclipse it in many ways. Also its easier to obtain a GT-R in Mysia rather than the 370Z.

On the contrary, the 350Z still can be found and will be alot cheaper than the 370Z. Why not go for that?

A 350Z with a 2.5-litre engine swap from the R34 looks delicious to me

3.5L is N/A while 2.5 is a turbo. And also the 3.5L will be very high roadtax

Waste money la put another 10K for an RB25. Use that money to turbo the 3.5 better. If want to save money for the sake of having 2.5L, buy a newer Mark X or IS250 much better.

Please remember that the engine compartment was designed for a v6 engine, so if one were to really downgrade to 2.5l , he must find the VQ series engine, and must be a rwd VQ engine, not those from a fwd a32/a33 cefiro. The RB engine is too long to fit in.
I dont think there is a rwd vq engine below 3.5l.

GTR's maintenance is Supercar level, whereby 370 is still a sportcar's level laugh.gif

It got 300+ horses, quite OK for normal usage. Unless it's a RB25 NEO, it's not worth all the hassle since getting a h/cut means more upgrades are needed as well as a good tuner.

the reason why i am going for the 350z is because i dont want the car to be more than 4 years old (just a personal preference). that is also the reason of why im planning to get a 2010/2011 model. also, the 2010/2011 GTR models are around 430k whilst the 2010/2011 370z models are around 230k. 200k more is pretty steep for me.
