do u guys mind telling me how ur laptops was stolen? was it a snatch and run or did somebody held a knife to ur throat demanding for the laptop? Curious bout this, maybe u could share ur stories so we can avoid this sort of behavior.

well my case is like this:

they came in the morning usually after u leave the house.
time 8-10am
the lock is usually gone (SOLEX type).
they din use saw or hammer to unlock cuz no evidence of loud sound(i was sleeping in the house) and no metal dropping watsover.
they took small items like laptops, mp3s, handphones, wallets cameras etc.
they din take big items like desktops, LCD monitors etc.
they din take the power adapter.

so far 3 units at Happy Mansion kena.

btw, i was on a look out a week after the incident n i heard the wooden door being quietly being tested to be open (as the wooden door was not lock during the incident previously). i quickly open the door n saw 2 man (1 with a backpack) walking away to the right (apparently heading to the staircase on the right). I shut the door n woke up my friend, we opened the door n this time see them walking pass our door to the left then going down the staircase to the right. We then tried to follow them but lost track of them.

THis phone has a Dell service tag number that has been reported lost or stolen with At&T and with Dell. So it is useless and cannot be activated by anyone but my husband. We are located in Austin Texas United States.

My husband lost his Dell Streak while traveling on a business trip for Dell, and is now back in America.

I have faith the phone will be found. The photos and videos are important to our family.

i got no idea how i lost it. after bought my dinner i sat down and take a few sip drinks and suddenly i got this wake up from sleep feeling and the first thing came across my mind were my lappy and cameras.

went to panic mood and begun to search the whole dinners. few customer told me there is 1 fat dude wore cap took my belongings. funny thing is the exit door is in front of me and i dont see a damn thing

went to made police report and been told by the investigation officer that this kind of case often being reported.

i bought my camera from senq. i am not sure i am eligible for the insurance though

the sob has been caught but he keep mum about the stolen item. he has few accomplice and some of em are local. i've been inform by a lawyer who almost become victims. the sob try to switch his bag using my stolen bag and lucky he quickly react and save himself .i left my business card in my bag and the guy called me telling he got a good look on the sob. even managed to throw a swing but he got away.few day later he been caught by local when he try to steal other laptop.there were typical 2 MO

1) distracting dining customer at fast food by giving hand signal.this happen to the lawyer. he is having a lunch in mc donalds and the thief distracted him by giving hand signal. after a split second, he realize his pouch bag is not there anymore

2) pretend to drop money and ask you to collect. the moment you turn yr head over, your belongings will be gone. happen to few student in mc donalad and kfc

for forumer out there.be extra carefull with your gadget. according to the police there been at least 10 reported cases within2 weeks. the rest of the crew are still walking around to find potential victims. they are working in group
