QUOTE(ionStorm @ Oct 27 2014, 06:33 AM) Thanks for the guide, but what i'm really intending to do is plugging the fibre directly into a Mikrotik unit. Like this. Any reason why you want to do that?I suppose you might be able to find a compatible GPON SFP, but the next hurdle is getting TM to recognize your SFP's serial number. |

I prefer to consolidate whenever possible.

That wouldn't be possible as you will need the details of the ONU password of your fibre port and your router terminal needs to be compatible with TM's infrastructure, which depends on area you are living in.

I guess it all matter with the ONU password as authentication... Not sure if Mikrotik support that or not and also the compatibility between Mikrotik ONU <--> Huawei OLT
As for Serial number, i think it should be fine. I have an imported Huawei HG and it works as long as the ONU password is correct... |

How did you get the password into the imported Huawei? As for Serial number, i think it should be fine. I have an imported Huawei HG and it works as long as the ONU password is correct... |

Last time i used to have a thread about the imported HG8240:
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2149641&hl= @ionStorm, if you are considering having a unified unit, you may want to consider the enterprise unit... MA5626-8/16/24GPON... this will work... I didn't purchase this due to RJ-11 port missing for VOIP. Some information on Mikrotik forum: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=67543 Seems like Huawei GPON SFP wouldn't work with Mikrotik router. Huawei HPSP2120 ONU SFP unit... |
