Guys, I'm getting the G551JM in the next 3 days. I know its kinda last year and I'm buying it late, but I think it is still better than the G552JX because even though 950m, G551JM has 860m ddr5 instead of ddr3 in the G552JX. Heard not much difference between 950m and 860m, is that true? And someone mentioned earlier that MY stop supplying G551JM and currently selling out leftovers? Will that mean the G551JM I get will be banged up, thrown around and left in the corner of store room one? Someone plz enlighten me Thanks.

Better get Lenovo Y50 preferably the old stock 4GB GTX860M or get the newer 4GB GTX960M. Trust me the cooling system is better on Y50. If ure a hardcore gamer who loves to game on high settings, u might wanna get at least dual-cooling system laptop. nod.gif

I said this based on my previous experience, using Acer Nitro (dual cooling but somehow Acer didnt really utilize it, 85'C gaming), then i use MSI GE60 (oven laptop, always 90'C gaming), then i get the Y50. (Gaming average never goes above 80'C, max i get is 76'C). nod.gif

I actually plan to get G551JM before i bought Y50, but seeing its just single fan cooling, and i already had 2 bad experience with Acer and MSI, i straight away goes for Lenovo, and it never disappoints me. Playing The Witcher 3 6-hours straight temp barely reached 76'C. thumbup.gif

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the suggestion biggrin.gif
But I have already decided on G551JM, because even though V nitro and Y50 has slightly better specs without upgrade, Asus is known for tough, quality build and very well balanced.

Heard the Y50 has terrible screen, is that true? Or has it been updated. My friend bought the acer, lousy battery.

I think G551JM will do fine with cooling, cause they have the most experience in gaming and known for their cool in terms of temps gaming machines, maybe they know how to utilize it more(correct me if im wrong).

Out of the three Asus has the best quality, solid and their parts also quality, even though customer service sucks, I didn't need to send it back in the 1st place, my N series never failed me(just the wire connecting screen to main system loose, quick fix just plug back) for 3 years. 2 HP lappie failed me.

Nice info on the temps, a great help for those who not yet decide. Just shows that the best gaming laptops are not just about slapping on the latest gtx, 16gb ram, dual fans or other beast components, it has to have a perfect balance of everything and optimization to get the best of eveything.biggrin.gif
