hahahaha.. thanks for yhe insight bro.. actually i set my budget for g551 only but since i got extra cash coming in i thought of future proofing my purchase and the g751jt was a definite choice, only downside was the non-removable battery.

last night i was doing the math, if i get a g551jm+256ssd+caddy just a few more i can get a g750jm without having the need to use a caddy.

sorry this i don't have an answer for you hehe

after playing with laptops for some times, imo there is no such things as 'future proof' in laptops (or technologies in general). things that are relatively closer to that term will cost you extras.

particularly for gaming, low and mid-tier gpu power is not strong enough to survive a year if you wanna play demanding game titles. if you intend to use it for gaming, high-end models with juicy gpu's are your options. the shelf life of the high-end gpu performance can last 2 to 3 years max. (using mid settings in the last year to make some new games still playable) by that time new and more powerful gpu's are out, and you repeat the cycle. with the same amount of money, it's much better to game with desktops.

yes. as a work horse for daily usage and old games, these laptops are great. (more than great, actually)
