anyone can help this user to claim his/her laptop back, e.g. providing a better channel so that he/she can communicate further?

it's sad to know that a good product can couple with the lousiest after-sale support in this planet. an official asus service center can cause laptops submitted for repairs to be missing. can you believe that?

And I thought Asus service has just improved. I'm amaze the people still manage to keep his temper after 10 months of delay on delivering/replacing his laptop back.

right. this kind of things is really hard to swallow.

i am not sure if asus malaysia is trying to cope with things here. if they do, they are not trying hard enough.

i think most of us have been asked before about the stuff from asus that we owned. in my case it's my uncles, aunts, and relatives in the family. (mostly old folks, usually after they go windows shopping and look at asus stuff; and i happened to have some of them) i know all they do with computers is to view photos and videos of their grand children, sometimes do video calls. it's reasonably safe if they use asus laptops. however, i have this feeling that they will get into troubles later on. the reason is plain simple: we know how to fix stuff (up to certain extents), they don't. i am ready to help them out, then i realized that they already paid for the warranty service. asus boasts about 2-year warranty, which i think it's fair, and it sounded really great to old folks. somehow, i still think it's safer for them to go for other brands that can actually deliver proper warranty supports.

i have read that even other asus hardware warranty are having similar issues now.

this is indeed sad. lousy after-sale services really kill good products.

Yea. No matter how good is the built quality of the product, I always find that without a good after sales services, I won't consider buying it. Especially you're spending few Ks to get something.
And yet a lot people are laughing that looking at good after sales service is not necessary if they get a good machine sweat.gif

exactly. it's a combination of both product quality and after-sale service that make the difference. relying on the quality of products alone is very risky to a consumer.

hehe they might be too optimistic. everything has wear and tear, particularly mass-produced electronics like laptop parts.

most of the times, things might not happen in the first or second year of usage. after that i am not really sure. for instance, my 3-year-old laptop is starting to have lvd cable issues just recently. when i lift the display panel, the screen will go blank sometimes. a little adjustment of angles and everything is fine again. the rest of the laptop is still at its tip-top condition. who would have guessed that this can happen?

actually to most people who use laptops for work purposes, it's not a good deal.

why do we need warranty? it's a form of insurance backed by manufacturer to consumers that it will work within the warranted period. if it doesn't the manufacturer will make it work. mass-produced goods have lemon units. they are well aware of that.

the problem with asus service in Malaysia is that they are abusing the warranty period internally. waiting for months for replacement parts/units? internal miscommunications? come on. don't insult our intelligence. these days international logistics is not bad already. furthermore they are well-established internationally, it's hard to believe that they still fail to establish a better way to deliver an acceptable warranty support. i believe there must be something wrong that influences the decision of asus management in appointing a capable local service center operator.

stop searching for the incredible. fix your own stuff first.

Knowing how service center and company management runs will let u know more about product, and its parts whether is it new or is it taken back and repaired and thus it is re-certified. Management decides if the part is re-usable after repair, or some stuff ought to replace with new due to repair is beyond their effort.

knowing issues is one thing, taking actions to fix a broken system is another. if asus is a new start-up, i still can understand that, although there are plenty of ways to make things right in the first place with today's human resource quality, service standards and technologies.

you're right, the process looks complex and time consuming. the thing is, there are plenty of ways to achieve better outcomes. (the key is still to deliver better overall customer experience. if the process takes time, then make time). dell gets it, other brands like acer also gets it, while asus being one of the reputable brands doesn't.

Just get the G751Jt today. I really love the keyboard. It is very spacious. Easy to type. Like my old Dell Studio 17. Haha

Hi guys, need some help here.
I bought g55ijm few months ago. I use it to play wot. All were good until couple of weeks ago. I kept getting lag and its unplayable. I thought I was a network problem. Than I change to different ISP, still the same. And than I try to play from different laptop, and all is fine. It seems the problem come from the laptop itself. Anyone encounter this problem before?
Also I was thinking to do clean re-installation. I have created backup drive using asus backtrack. Can anyone advice me how to proceed with it?
