Oh.. i thought if it is a B&M can be compatible with M type you shown me:
user posted image

"For example, M.2 modules with two notches in B and M positions use up to two PCI Express lanes and provide broader compatibility at the same time, while the M.2 modules with only one notch in the M position use up to four PCI Express lanes; both examples also support SATA storage devices. Similar keying applies to M.2 modules that utilize provided USB 3.0 connectivity"
More info: here

Does it means that B&M can also be supported?

No, it doesn't.

M.2 SSD Buyers Checklist:
Whether your motherboard/notebook supports M.2 SATA or M.2 PCI-Express (hint: check the specs page!)
The type of keying (B/M/B+M) supported by the motherboard/notebook socket
If it is PCI Express, whether it supports 2x or 4x PCI-Express
The maximum length of SSD drive supported (2232 to 22110) (hint: it should say on the PCB)

Then its either your LCD(Dead Horizontal Pixels) or Ribbon issue(least possible).
Warranty still valid? If still valid, send for warranty...

Anyhow changing LCD panel won't be cheap at service center.

Talk about that big water cooler for lappy. I wonder if it can support my G73J

riku2replica I get what you mean now.

That means either XP941 or SM951 should be a compatible SSD for G501JW.

So it is confirm that G501JW-CN117H have an extra M.2 PCIE x4 slot?
How come all retail shop and their supplier says CN117H don't have the M.2 slot? Weird... sweat.gif

Nope, there's the proprietary port like the alienware amplifier... But actually i would prefer if it does 2 things since its so bulky...
1) Water Cooling
2) Speaker( yes, laptop speaker are known to be soft in events...)

Ah. It's not me alone. My screen have that Red horizontal dead pixel on the screen as well.. It's on the right side. Heavy usage(rarely switch off my laptop and always have people using it either playing games/movies/work even if im not at home biggrin.gif)

I might DIY to change the screen. Depends on my freetime. But still needs to get screen replacement. Maybe taobao?

I'll give a call to Asus SC later today or tomorrow for price quotation. Probably if i go to Asus SC i might aswell ask for daughter board repair/replacement (was too clever before ripped my g55 and i think damage the cable) and also my HDMI port is now not working. probably change mobo =.="

OMG i guess it's like a whole set of G55? minus dvd/hdd/ssd/ram/keyboard. Might aswell ask to change my speaker now got cracking sound =.="

Way back was too excited. repaste thermal. add/switch ram. remove dvd rom (put in caddy for more storage). Gatal tangan. So i ended up losing alot of screws (no problem), spoil daughter board cable or the port connecting to the mobo/hdmi don't know how spoil, maybe i was too rough? haha. Now screen got nice red line of dead pixel on the right side from top to bottom!

I am already considering to buy a new lappy. but i spend too much on my car =.=" now have to wait for "donation". anyone wants to give me? biggrin.gif

that's ur mistake, the ribbon should be pull only the ribbon, the clip should be attached to the board. IINM, G56JR also has this ribbon before accessing motherboard. sweat.gif
