My problem:

1) My wireless modem/router is at downstairs and my desktop is at upstairs. The signal is weak, any solution to this??

2) I prefer to use cable, but my dad dont like the cable to crawling around the house, so i guess the cable idea have to go into the bin

3) Can i somehow switch my modem/router up if i ask someone to make another phone port ( i dont know what is that called ). Or isit possible to have 2 modem? 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs

Updated with details and picture:

This is my modem and router in 1st floor
Modem provided by TM : Innacomm W3400V6
Belkin wireless router : F6D4230-4

Either change your router to more stronger ones, or use Home Plugs.

cannot use 2 modem

AP still requires cabling, unless maybe high end ones that has 2 wifi ?

The easiest way (less configuration) is still using Home Plug.

If you having a big house, you might need few WIFI repeater.

The WIFI repeater will only work when it is within the router WIFI range (place it near the edge or border of the WIFI range).
If the WIFI repeater place it outside the router WIFI range, then it will unable to "repeat" the WIFI signal.

Multiple power grid means, if 1 of them blackout, other part of house that use different power grid still have power right?? If yes then my house have 3 cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

maybe you should try to change the antenna to a bigger and longer. If you have extra money, try to get a powerful wifi router.

Not necessary. A fuse box will protect many sockets individually in your house. So lets say your room trip and other room will light up is ok. Whats problematic is 3 phase wiring. Different phase cannot communicate with each other like single phase if you use home plugs.

get ASUS RT12 and if you get x2 you can expand the wireless connection very wide that is my current set up for my house. I stay in a big bungalow.

Avoid homeplug it will cause alot problem and waste electric while not guarantee stability
