ANd some comments from reddit pros in comparison with Owen Hargreaves injury :

1.Owen Hargreaves was Patella Tendonitis which is in the knee.

2.He pushed his patellars through the pain till it needed surgery to fix. When you have to solve tendonitis with surgery is when it becomes a long term problem that can mess with your career. I still remember Richard Steadman saying something about how Hargreaves were the worst tendons he'd seen in 35 years. It's sad, but it was completely his fault. Could've happened to Koscielny but it hasn't and at the moment all we know is that it can be fixed with rest. It means it's an acute tendonitis that'll be fine in a month or a couple.
