Just finished watching Ep 01 (well on RAW, doesnt matter, I understand 80 to 90% of spoken JPN anyways)

Oh god I got to say, this will be my MOST favourite anime fo the year.

Heck I like this even more than Zero no Tsukaima biggrin.gif

Of course, I am biased, I was a big Kanon fan, especially Nayuki and Mai >_<

Ahh cant wait for Ep 2.

Somehow when i saw the preview, I was expecting the worst from Yuuchi's new Seiyuu (he sounded TOO much like Kyon on the trailers)

Somehow in the final production of Ep 01, he kinda tonned down his voice a little. Still got hints of Kyon"ness" in his voice, but it is much better, and the tone of voice pretty much suited with what Yuuichi had for the previous version of Kanon anime. Well maybe it is just me, who cares if it is Kyon...

NAYUKI-chan! MAI-chan! OOOoooOOO

(damn I getting hyperactive now)

Cant wait for Ep 2 >_<

Errm, I am repeating myself X-x

Argghhhh.....

Actually i do think that quality of the anime is pretty good, as it fits the whole "feel" of Kanon onto it.

But yes there is excessive usage of sun flare >_<, something that I really dont like. But the character movements are fluid and, oh did I mention Nayuki and Mai is cute?

Soundtracks just nailed the anime properly, although it is more like a deja vu from the games heh... oh well I dont care... the game is a masterpiece.

>_<

Well I am extremly biased though. Was a fan of Mai and Nayuki for a long long time... I WILL continue to be biased!

LOL.

In fact I'm considering to import the original DVDs (when it is released) from Japan >_<

There goes close to RM180 for the first volume!

BTW they changed the alarm clock to a different design, I hope the "alarm" clock stays the same. Will found out on Ep 2 >_<

Err LOL, i did mention about SS-Eclipse release a few posts back biggrin.gif

Anyways storyline wise, well most of us know what is going to happen. I am just looking forward for the additions they will make to enrich the storyline, seeing that this is slated for a 26 episode instead of the old 13 episode series.

I expect alot more scenes that were in-game to surface onto anime, and hoping for new and exclusive scenes.

And I cant wait for Mai story arc to launch biggrin.gif Well the occasional cuteness of Nayuki in the series is a big plus >_<

Anyways I fully expect the series to end with Ayu's arc... Grrrrrrr..... I hate that...

Gimme Nayuki/Mai ENDING! LOL

Oh well, there's always the game.

Err LOL, bad ending?

Which one?

I finished Kanon... hmm 5 times? LOL, well Nayuki's ending was twice for that matter, Mai once, Ayu once, Makoto once.

>_<

But I am still Mai/Nayuki fan biggrin.gif

LOL. Sayuri came close, but she lost to Mai and Nayuki (in me >_<)

Oh cant read Japanese? Hmm the fantranslation has already progressed to 50+%? Last time when i saw it, it is till in the 20 figure (oh well that was years ago)

Well I can read most katakana and hiragana, so it helped alot during gameplay, kanji most of the time I totally ignore it, but if really desperate I'll try to search for the meaning online/dictionary.

Hmm watched Kanon for the third time today (ugghh yeah I am getting maniac)

There is actually a huge reason for this.

I am NOT an anime fan a few years back (hmm if I would put a timeline, it should be around 90's).

I gained interest in Anime from Initial D, then I moved too all the mainstream anime from there. Got real hooked with Eva, and after a while Kanon was released (I think it was on 2000 that time).

Kanon really blows me off (i'm still on fansubs during that time), and through Kanon i gain interest to JPN adeventure ren'ai gaming. I became a real otaku that time, LOL, seriously, I can spend hours on ren'ai gaming. Through those valuable gaming experience, I had improved my Japanese understanding and reading tremendously (I have a background for JPN from RPGs before that). So I guess Kanon is one of the animes that really shapes to who I am right now.

No Kanon, ie I wont play JPN adventure ren'ai game, no ren'ai games means I still know very little in JPN. No Kanon means I wont be a maniac in anime and gaming >_<

Hmm think about it, maybe it had destroyed my life LOL.

So to see a remake of the classic is like godsend to me biggrin.gif

I never been to Japanese classes so my Japanese is kinda self taught and through online resources and lotsa gaming.

Yeah I understand JPN speech decently too, just dont ask me to speak, I really cant speak biggrin.gif, no practise >_<

Oh a fan of Air.

Yay I am one as well. Only managed to finish it twice though, when I move on to Sakura Taisen series that time. But ren'ai gaming is put on hold for now, as you grow older you find yourself tied with commitments, works, etc, well hobby will take a big setback (heck I havent even finish Sakura Taisen V >_<)

Tsukihime mediocre? Hmm... too me it is pretty good, though I kinda ignore that particular game, as it is COMPLETELY text based that time. A NIGHTMARE to play with >_<

Perfectionist in gaming? I was... a few years back. Now no longer... cant afford the time to be a perfectionist.

Anyways back to the topic in hand, Kanon yeah... LOL.

Yes Kanon... the original was on 2001? LOL i thought it was 2000 >_<. Memory is failing me, I am getting old tongue.gif

Have I metioned how cute is Nayuki in the first Episode? Oh yeah I did... dang, Nayuki is cute isn't she?

Another rant from a mad Kanon fan >_<

As much as I hate Ayu (LOL ok, I dont really hate her, just that her ending WILL always be focused for the anime, so errrm... LOL), I find her scenes pretty cute on episode 1, especially when she wa trying to look at her own wings (yup I like that part)

Now can someone shut her uguu~ LOL.

Nayuki with her trademark da yo. I prefer that, much more than uguu >_<

"Yoru wa, Oyasuminasai, da yo".

Kahhhh.... I cant get enough of that >_<

Hmm I revisted the official website (my last visit was about 3 weeks ago)

They had a new artwork for the front, the old one is kinda like the ad they have on Kyoto Animation main home page.

Well here are some screens for the new home page artwork (inlcuding the ad)

Oh dang, the DVD is slated to release on January 2007 >_< Oh well... guess I have to wait.

LOL, I always like the combination of Sayuri and Mai anyways biggrin.gif

Slight appearance by both of them at school on Ep 01. Small appearance on Shiori, and maybe Makoto as well

Hmm for now I'm sticking to SS-Eclipse.

I abit biased with Eclipse because of their old release wtih Shakugan no Shana.

Dont worry, there will be MORE release by other fansubber, as I think Kanon project will taken by quite a number of them.

Now, I'm gonna rave about it again since it's from Kyoto Animation and they used the same OP & ED song of the game just like what they did with AIR.

However, this time the anime does not feel as funny anymore compared to last time because Yuuichi gave out the "Kyon's sarcasm & monologue" vibe eventhough the situation is still as amusing.
*
Well the usage of the original game soundtracks totally nailed the whole anime, wich is good, the OST itself is a masterpiece.

Kyon sarcasm, hmm it is quite tonned down actually. In fact on the trailer it is far much more worse, as through that I had already expected the worst >_<

But somehow on the final release of Ep 1 the voice of Kyon is kinda, well different that what he used for the trailers, and it is a huge improvement, at least there are traces of softness in the voice like what Yuuichi should have, though yes, the occasional "sarcasm" crop out once in a while, esp. on the scene with Ayu (when she hit him)

The whole soundtrack was from the game, and the old anime soundtrack is based on the game as well... so yeah... you can trace it back all the way back then biggrin.gif

You Hot Linking....

LOL.

Anyways no, the game does not show the full Yuuichi's face, unless if you're talking about his sillohoute, with no eyes and stuff.

Just show the hair and the general outline of a face, but no details.

And as you know, Yuuichi's is not voiced either in the games.

I have to agre that the 2001 Kanon, Yuuichi's voice fit much better than the current one on KyoAni.

BUT it is a big improvement from the voice i heard from the traielr. Of that one is SO SO SO much more terrible.

Well I'll live with it, as long as I get to see Nayuki and Mai biggrin.gif

Is hot-linking an offense here? I hope not and i rarely do hot-linking stuff anyway.

Also IIRC, i'm 51% sure that there's a version of Kanon game which have Yuuichi voices. I think it's the PS2 port. Maybe i confused it with voiced Yukito for PS2 AIR or maybe both games also have voices for their protagonists.
*
Hot linking is not an offense, just probably it is from the place you're hotlinking biggrin.gif Nope I remembered very clear that the Kanon PS2 port was not voiced (male), because it was still on CD format >_<

Air I cant really remember properly, but at least that game was release on DVD Format (PS2 Version).

QUOTE
If i'm not wrong, since most if not all older seiyuus from 2001 Kanon anime are back with 2006 Kanon, and if both the anime Yuuichi still voiced by the same person, why he can't just copy paste his old Yuuichi voice? I guess maybe doing Honey & Clover II, Melancholy Of Suzumiya Haruhi and Kanon project consencutively made it hard for the Yuuchi seiyuu to forget his recently previous voices.
Nope it is a different seiyuu for Yuuichi (2001 and 2006), IIRC. Yes most of the characters are back, in fact from what I observed, almost all of them are from the previous crew of Kanon.

QUOTE
Tonikaku, i'm happy KyoAni made Nayuki's "Oide~" scene in episode 01. Although Ayu got her "Uguu~", Sayuri got her "Nihaha~, Mai got her "Zen zen" and Misuzu got her "Gao~"(lol, wrong anime), Nayuki wins down with her more "moe" lines. If by slight chance KyoAni don't show Nayuki's "Neko~, neko~, neko.........." scene, head will roll!!
Yes yes yes, someone agreed with me. Nayuki is totally moe~~. I am sure the neko scene would be there, if not vmad.gif

LOL. Well Ep 2 as usual, to me still a masterpiece (I am BIASED, YES I AM!)

Asa~ Asa Da Yo~ Asa Gohan Tabete, Gakou no Ikkouyo (forgive my spelling, it MUST be wrong biggrin.gif)

My favourite scene in the game so far has been great on the new version anime. In fact the still that show Nayuki sleeping is exactly the same with the one shown on the game (except of course, updated artwork biggrin.gif)

Makoto has also made her appearance at the end, so all the gang in Kanon has appeared biggrin.gif

I like the adpation in regards to "the" jam biggrin.gif Heheh... nice effect biggrin.gif

Yeah the alrm clock sound it pretty distorted, not as clear as the one on the previous anime or the game, but it adds the "reality" bit, alarm clock cheapo speaker where can sound so clear? LOL.
