Guys. i wanna ask your opinion on this bet im proposing to my fren. He kept complaining that as a f2p player, he cannot hit legend. so here's the deal:
I'll buy 200 packs for him and he has to hit legend rank with his new collection by the end of this season.
If he wins the challenge, he can keep the 200 packs.
If he fails, he has to return the 200 packs, and buy a seafood dinner.
He says the deal is not fair to him. What do u think? Will you take the challenge?
Fair.
From an individual perspective, you do indeed lose more than you gain. But this is evened out by the odds being stacked in your favour that you will win : Your friend is pure F2P and has never experienced the constructed meta at differing ranks. In fact, with the odds being so in your favour, I might even say you hold an advantage here. I think an even Rank expectation for him would be around Rank 2-3?

I always thought to hit legend you need the best currency in the world : time. I think this why aggro face decks are more popular due to shorter match time. Compared to a control matchup which may take 20 minutes plus. I personally prefer playing control decks and BM them with "can't touch this" behavior
My opinion on why aggro decks are so popular is because they are cheap (Dust wise). F2P players can throw together a Tier 1 deck and immediately feel the surge in power, as opposed to getting smacked around because they do not have the cards.
To hit legend you will need to satisfy 3 factors :
1. A proper deck and the skill to pilot it. Basic deck to legend is so 2014.
2. A proper understanding of the game. Knowing how to tech against different setups at different ranks, they can have their own mini metas. Also knowing how to navigate your opponent's deck and secrets. This includes baiting out removal and boardclears before playing your win condition.
3. Time. You aren't getting to Legend by playing only 100 games a month.
