Guys... Any idea will I able to get hot toys figure much cheaper if I buy directly in hong kong ? Comparing to locally ...or they are almost similar price? Thinking to ask my friend who travel to hk often to help me buy next time, if it is worth it.

Yes you can get bargains in HK.... for not so popular figures, unless you stay long term in HK, it's not worth it. New releases in HK are generally not available for walk in purchases unless for a very steep price.

This video addresses somewhat the situation in HK regarding PO.

hot toys is definitely milking kau kau! rclxub.gif

PO the 1/4 Mark 43 will make it seems like its pointless to PO the previous 1/6 Mark 43. sweat.gif

Am I the only one stupid enough to have ordered the 1/4 Mark 43? shocking.gif Rm1800... no gst. This will be my first ironman from hot toys. After seeing the 1/4 , the 1/6 mark 43 looks horrible....

Those days the thrill of pre ordering a figure and the eager to wait until it's released...nowadays just does not have that feeling anymore...

Plus too many shops carrying Hottoys also lead to this imho...

Can see the thread is really quite dead recently...at least im still eagerly waiting for the 1/4 mark 43 (my first ironman), even more now that seeing the teaser of the upcoming release above. Wonder if it will release in dec for xmas or feb for cny sweat.gif .

how much WAS the PO price for this 1/4?

so are the retailers honoring the PO price since the item just only releasing now?
*
QUOTE(BeastX @ Nov 26 2015, 01:41 PM)
unlikely.....more like 2k now...

I ordered mine at rm 1800 back in April. They exclude GST for me since I am paying full amount and not just deposit. If I pay deposit only then i'll be charged with additional rm 108 for GST when collecting the figure.

I never expect the RM will drop so much in few months time... but then I wasn't expecting to top up the cost now.... that is why i pay full amount in the first place to lock in the price... hopefully im right... unsure.gif

Finally collected my first Ironman figure from XL shop today. The 1/4 scale Mark 43! rclxms.gif

This thing is just MASSIVE! No picture can justify its size. Only when holding it in front of you, then you able to tell how ridiculously big and heavy this thing is.

A quick impression of the figure after playing around for 3 hours. Because of the stiffness of its joints, the overall weight+size, and number of articulations, I must say it is really difficult to work (play) with. Have to be extremely careful, as every articulation, will have to make sure it doesn't scratch/clips onto other fragile panels. Ratchet joints are so stiff... if not careful enough, a single "click" could potentially harm the paints... I am glad Hot Toys go for the battle- weathering effect...as to easily hide any imperfection.

Posing is one of the most challenging thing!! rclxub.gif Because of its weight, you wouldn't want it to fall down at all, not even once!! So posing it in cool pose and at the same time, confidently-stable is extremely difficult. It took me over an hour plus to get him into a single pose that I like. The tall-uneven base and the plastic transparent tube stand isn't helping much. The position of the stand is so rigid at one place (and slightly flimsy), and the base has very limited surfaces for his feet to rest steadily. I constantly worry that it will slip and fall down from my table... rclxub.gif

I never have a 1/6 scale ironman before, so Im not sure if the experience are the same as this one... maybe im just being too careful.

There are still so many things I have not test, all the opening flaps , tons of LED lights. One thing I notice is that, the batteries they included show signs of leaking already... with some black/greenish liquid on the top of the batteries. I am worry it will start "melting" if I continue using them and damage the electronic parts. So I am thinking to replace every batteries tomorrow. With 24 Batteries (3 different sizes).... this will probably cost me quite a lot..

Anyway this are my quick early impression.. I can see that I won't be bored with this figure for a long time. Is just that impressive! thumbup.gif It makes me worry that I might end up collecting 1/4 scale figures and statue!!

Wow.. this thread is so dead... last post was nearly half year ago..

Anyway I like to ask how can I preorder from XL shop online? Do I have to pay full amount? or I only need to pay 20% like when walk in their store?
