Finally collected my first Ironman figure from XL shop today. The 1/4 scale Mark 43!
This thing is just MASSIVE! No picture can justify its size. Only when holding it in front of you, then you able to tell how ridiculously big and heavy this thing is.
A quick impression of the figure after playing around for 3 hours. Because of the stiffness of its joints, the overall weight+size, and number of articulations, I must say it is really difficult to work (play) with. Have to be extremely careful, as every articulation, will have to make sure it doesn't scratch/clips onto other fragile panels. Ratchet joints are so stiff... if not careful enough, a single "click" could potentially harm the paints... I am glad Hot Toys go for the battle- weathering effect...as to easily hide any imperfection.
Posing is one of the most challenging thing!!

Because of its weight, you wouldn't want it to fall down at all, not even once!! So posing it in cool pose and at the same time, confidently-stable is extremely difficult. It took me over an hour plus to get him into a single pose that I like. The tall-uneven base and the plastic transparent tube stand isn't helping much. The position of the stand is so rigid at one place (and slightly flimsy), and the base has very limited surfaces for his feet to rest steadily. I constantly worry that it will slip and fall down from my table...
I never have a 1/6 scale ironman before, so Im not sure if the experience are the same as this one... maybe im just being too careful.
There are still so many things I have not test, all the opening flaps , tons of LED lights. One thing I notice is that, the batteries they included show signs of leaking already... with some black/greenish liquid on the top of the batteries. I am worry it will start "melting" if I continue using them and damage the electronic parts. So I am thinking to replace every batteries tomorrow. With 24 Batteries (3 different sizes).... this will probably cost me quite a lot..
Anyway this are my quick early impression.. I can see that I won't be bored with this figure for a long time. Is just that impressive!

It makes me worry that I might end up collecting 1/4 scale figures and statue!!
