Hello, Citizens of Lowyat. I'm a little new here so I don't know if a thread similar to this has already been posted. Anyway, have there been any local game development companies for consoles or PC established in Malaysia? Why am I asking this question you ask? One of these days after I finish my GAME ART course in TAFE and get some industry experience, I may want to either join said companies or start my own.

I especially like how they made the graphics resemble the old-timey 1930s comic book ads. How's their reputation game development-wise?

QUOTE We have grown from a four-person start-up in 1998 into a 26-person interactive entertainment software company recognized for efficiency and technology. We have shipped nine games and are currently being sold worldwide by top publishers. We are currently working on our original title for Playstation 2 and GameCube which is mostly funded by the Malaysian government. PC is only used for internal development. 1 word. unbelievable. never thought i'd see the day

But what Malaysia really needs is a development company to break into the untapped South East Asian Market (aka, getting people to buy your original games that's not a goddamn MMORPG for once)

As far as i know...the ps2 Game they're doing isn't out yet. But I've been to their company b4 (to apply for Uni field trip) and the games their developing looks like an RPG. Cool bunch of people!

Gen Blaze: Congratulations on your choice of course. The road is long and hard but there are some good people working very hard to help develop the game dev industry in Malaysia. Keep your eyes and ears open!
