Thinking of buying a panasonic TH40es501k, mainly to use its smartv tv feature. Anyone know is the smart TV feature compared to a Samsung ua40j5200 ?

Anything peculiar with the Panasonic media player for videos ?

Yes to certain extent. You need to buy a proper 4K Blu Ray Native 4K with 3D player. The USB HDD MPEG decoder much better.  cool2.gif

Is it really a panasonic problem or it is a common problem across the board ?

I would imagine that if one plugs in a 2.5 inch HDD, maybe the transfer rate is limited. If one uses a 3.5 inch HDD powered by a toaster and formatted with large blocksize, transfer rate will be better. Do TVs implement usb 3.0 or they are still at usb 2.0 ?

Hye guys, just bought fx600 55 inch, can i ask if anybody knows how to install popcorn time into the tv?

You can't do that. You can consider using a tvbox or casting.

saw this in Panasonic website about the gx800...does it mean gx800 only have HDCP1.4 but not 2.2? =.=

The majority of 4K Blu-ray discs require HDCP2.2 on TV to play back HDR, whereas the HDMI input on this TV support only HDCP1.4; accordingly not all HDR contents are guaranteed to be enjoyed on the TV.

Could it be there are multiple version of GX800 ? I saw some pages which say GX800B, GX800K and HDCP 2.2.

i saw this in pana malaysia website...only 1 GX800, and this info stated there...i dont think DV or HDR10+ can run at HDCP1.4....
if this is the case, that means only can enjoy DV at Netflix, whereby the others are failed to do so (HDMI input, example Bluray, andriod box, set top box, etc)

Ok I just browsed the spec, yeah it did mention HDCP 1.4 for HDMI input. "this TV support only HDCP1.4; accordingly not all HDR contents are guaranteed to be enjoyed on the TV." Bummer, Panasonic !

Saw that, i think it just the general clauses and they didn't update it.
Because OLED GZ1000k also has the same statement.

As long as HDMI spec there stated HDCP 2.2, then shall be fine i guess. smile.gif

Possible. But would you dare to take the risk ?

Go to a shop and ask them to hook up to a HDCP 2.2 player and test it out.

They don't have, but you would have one. It can be as simple as a Google DRM L1 tvbox such as MiBox 3 or Shield. Connect it up, check DRM info, play a local file on thumb drive .....

If DRM info did not show up as HDCP 2.2, then it is dead.
