I not buy online. Panasonic is default preset on more natural color instead of very vibrant. But all this can be tune to your preferable.

It is better compare by yourself and decide as different people different preferable.

For me this Panasonic is very great on up-scaling STD contents. It is very well done. The only cons I can said is they is a very slight light border shadow on this EX600 model.

  • Sony X70E - It is nice but far more expensive and not running Android TV like others Sony this year TV, only start from X80E is Smart TV running Android TV OS.

  • Samsung MU6100 - I never like low end Samsung TV as it was not good.

  • LG UJ630 - I love LG new design remote which is very easier for input. LG WebOS design also much appealing. I initial is intend to buy LG TV. Support 2 out of 3 HDR format (HDR10 and HLG). The Smart OS is WebOS.

  • Panasonic EX600 - End up I choosing this and no regret. Just the only cons part to me is that very slight light border shadow. Support 2 out of 3 HDR format (HDR10 and HLG), website only mentioned support multiple format and I already test it confirmed is support HDR10 and HLG. The Smart OS is Firefox OS (now already purchase by Panasonic).

They is 3 HDR format in market. HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG. HDR10 is the very common format and now all HDR TV is support it, awesome output quality, UHD Blu-ray is on this HDR10 format. Dolby Vision as I know only the LG OLED TV support it, so far as I know only Apple TV HDR is on this format even though it is the best ever did. HLG is the selected format for broadcast.

You can get a lot HDR sample to test here - http://4kmedia.org/

OMG! I am so sad! I bought all my movies on Apple TV and the 4k HDR Dolby Vision is not support on this TV. So sad 😭😭😭 Already decided to buy this TV.

For local market If not wrong only LG OLED series TV support Dolby Vision.

From Dolby site only LG and Vizio support Dolby Vision. The list is not update because latest LG C7 is also support Dolby Vision.

I read from Apple’s support site, apparently Apple TV support HDR10 (https://support.apple.com/en-my/HT208074) So I guess I am safe! Right? Is HDR10 the best format? Or Dolby Vision is the latest and greatest?

I believe every device support HDR will support HDR10 because it is the free one. The best? Nope, Dolby Vision is the best but it is costly and not wide use due to you need paid fees to Dolby.

Oh! That’s explained. Dolby Visions not supported on Panasonic TH-55EX600K kinda bummer. I’m going to use this TV for many years I think I might need to looks else where. I really like this TV — feels good on my eyes with the colors and nice tiny pixels.

I have read the one by Trustedreviews and I just glance through the first link. This would be a good future proof but the price of this one will definitely not fit in my budget. However, the 2018 series even the entry level is pretty good.

My only concern is LG panel. I have LG LED 50” at home and less than 2 years, it now has a bad screen (2 lines in the middle of the screen)

I wonder if TH-55EX600K also use an LG panel. I was talking to the sales person and he said it was a Japan panel manufactured in Japan. Now I am not so sure any more. Anyone with infos? Thanks

Did you try claiming for warranty? LG makes most of the IPS panels in the world. The other IPS panel makers are Samsung (PLS), Japan Display and AU Optronics.
TVs nowadays no matter what panel have higher chance to have problems (as do other electronics stuff) compared to the old CRT tvs. But that doesn't mean that all LG panels will have problems. The best option is to always buy extended warranty.

No. I believe it’s out of warranty. We seldom watch TV anyway so we just let it be 😂 I’ll definately get an extra warranty if I buy tis TH-55EX600K.

after watching few BDs,downloaded 4K video and astro HD ( in both "Normal" and "Cinema" mode),i'm quite satisfy with it ,especially its natural colour, fast motion also fine,BUT there's one thing i dun really like,i found esp in some bright scenes, the white looks a bit over expose (example : white cloth or sky) and lost its details.I try to adjust "Brightness" and "Contrast" but it doesnt seem much help. I'm not sure this is just me becos my wife is ok with it (?) ..... Hopefully more sifus here can share their expereince ..  hmm.gif

FYI,i'm with 60" plasma b4 this n i hardly remembered i encounter this b4,or maybe oledi used to it ? tongue.gif

Hahahaha your wife is not too technical 😁

I care about the over exposure and lost of details but when you’re ur tired after work — you just don’t care anymore Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well be careful of adaptive backlight dimming. Make sure the feature can be turned off in case u don't like it.
*
I think you should tell the seller that you want to send it back for repair/ claim warranty. See how they react. If the rest of the guy can turn it off, yours should be able to do the same other wise, it must be broken — or maybe the software/firmware is broken.

Which one should I get, 49EX600K or 43FX500K. Price was similar.

My thought — if price is the same, go for FX since FX is the latest model. if you can save some more money — I think we all should just get OLED panel. Hahahaha
