Very interested in EX750 after going through the owners thread in AVforums but ony 58" sold in Malaysia (no 65"). Anyone has this tv and want to share their opinion about it?

They is only 75" and 58".

https://www.panasonic.com/my/consumer/home-...elevisions.html

But for that price, I rather buy 65" OLED TV.
*
Yes, I know.

Really, RM5k+ vs RM15k+ and you will rather buy the RM15k+ tv? Is your price tolerance really that big or are you comparing the 75" Pana with the 65" Oled which is actually not relevant to my post at all.

You mentioned EX750 only have 58" in Malaysia. That why I am telling you they is another size of EX750 which is 75" but cost RM 22k. That why I said I rather pick OLED TV If I am spending RM 22k for a TV.

Original retailer price for EX750 in Malaysia
58" EX750 - RM 7.5K
75" EX750 - RM 22K

Malaysia don't have 65". The 65" EX750 cost £ 2,204.99 = RM 12k. For 12k top up a bit already can get a decent LG OLED TV also.
*
Ok, I guess my post was not very clear. I know about the existence of the 75" but didn't mention it because it was not relevant to me (value proposition is very poor but its to be expected for the size). I would prefer a 65" tv but since this model only has a 58" that is affordable to me, I am considering it as a trade-off for the near Oled level quality in a smaller size.

Any comments from those who own this tv?

hi. getting a 65inch 4k tv. pana 65ex600k better than lg 65uj632 and sony 65x7000e rite???
*
Buying a display set is not a good idea coz the set would have been on dynamic mode for 12 hours a day everyday and who knows how many people prodded the screen.
But if you get it super cheap and you're not very fussy, then go ahead.

Brother just noticed u message, Sonny brand tv reliable meh? my previous Sony LCD end up throw to recycle  less than 2 years after bought it.
*
Sony has 2 years warranty so should be able to claim if rosak during that period. Anyway, you can always add extended warranty up to 5 years total.
In my opinion Sony is more reliable compared to Samsung & LG but all brands of tv can have problems, which is why I would highly recommend the extra warranty.

What insurance company is that? Previously I was told by some retailers that the insurance company will only refund 80% of the purchase price if they cannot fix or replace the same model. That was for MSIG.

You will be disappointed when the official amount is offered to you.
Last time I asked before. Insurance company will prorate the amount for you.
If your tv is almost 5 years old, they only compensate you 20% of the original price.
If they compensate you 100%, quickly go and claim the money.
*
Did you experience this before? Which insurance company was that?
If this is the case, its not worth it to buy the extended warranty. But I have heard of cases where they give you the new version of the tv at the same level. For example if you bought a 7 series Samsung UHD TV in 2015 and its spoilt, since they no longer have stock for the old model, they will give you the equivalent current model. This could be shop warranty though.

I got back my full amount today, minus few ringgit for admin fees.
But the process was painstakingly slow and unorganized. Took them about 3 weeks to settle everything, I had to keep call and chase everyday to ask for status.

I will probably think twice before getting insurance. I have to live without a tv for a month.
*
That's great! At least you didn't lose money due to the TV rosak even though its been a hassle.

Only car insurance got depreciation when claim after a few years.
Tv insurance got no depreciation. This is good news.
*
True, by right there shouldn't be any depreciation anyway because you pay the same premium amount for each year. So the market value of the tv isn't adjusted for like for car insurance. So it makes sense that you get back the full amount. But of course different shops use different underwriters so the process would be different. I think the shops make a very good margin on selling the extended warranties.

Mostly IPS for LCD. The new FX750 is also IPS but looks like 65" not available in Malaysia. Panasonic is going to be irrelevant as far as mainstream models are concerned.
Hope that Samsung will price its NU models more reasonably and maybe Hisense will step up their game to give us some more budget choices rather than just Sony currently.

This seems to be the common theme for all manufacturers. Smaller size <55" are all lower end models. if you want a better tv, must buy 55" or bigger.

In a dilemma:

Panasonic TH-49EX600K

OR

SONY KD-49X7000E

Need some advice. Budget only MYR2.5k
*
49EX600K is an IPS panel tv. 49X7000E is VA so it has better contrast. PQ wise, the Sony is better.

Apologies bro, the 49inch version is most probably an IPS unlike the 55" & 65". I have personally tested the 55" & 65" versions but not the 49". You may want to test it to confirm first. Otherwise, you can consider the Sharp 6500X / 6800X or Samsung MU6100.

For local market If not wrong only LG OLED series TV support Dolby Vision.

From Dolby site only LG and Vizio support Dolby Vision. The list is not update because latest LG C7 is also support Dolby Vision.

Sony TVs with the X1 Extreme chips have been updated to support Dolby Vision. But this is a software implementation compared to the hardware implementation in LG & Visio TVs. Don't know what differences are there between the software & hardware implementations.

I have read the one by Trustedreviews and I just glance through the first link. This would be a good future proof but the price of this one will definitely not fit in my budget. However, the 2018 series even the entry level is pretty good.

My only concern is LG panel. I have LG LED 50” at home and less than 2 years, it now has a bad screen (2 lines in the middle of the screen)

I wonder if TH-55EX600K also use an LG panel. I was talking to the sales person and he said it was a Japan panel manufactured in Japan. Now I am not so sure any more. Anyone with infos? Thanks
*
Did you try claiming for warranty? LG makes most of the IPS panels in the world. The other IPS panel makers are Samsung (PLS), Japan Display and AU Optronics.
TVs nowadays no matter what panel have higher chance to have problems (as do other electronics stuff) compared to the old CRT tvs. But that doesn't mean that all LG panels will have problems. The best option is to always buy extended warranty.
