Panasonic default Picture Normal calibration is not right at all. The light grey is whiter. I know this because I can't clearly see the selection in my Mi Box Android TV If it is light grey at white box. Also I always feel it somehow not correct where the total image had too bright, weird colour whiteout and less layer feel.

So I decide to re-calibration again the Picture setting. This time I am finally satisfied with it. Now the colour looks right and finally the light grey is light grey.

Below is my setting for standard and HDR for 43" EX600K. This setting may also work for 49" and 55" EX600K series but not the 65" because 65" is VA panel not IPS.

Viewing Mode - Custom
Backlight - 68 (HDR 75)
Contrast - 88 (HDR 95)
Brightness - 0
Colour - 50
Tint - 0
Sharpness - 50
Colour Temperature - Warm1
Vivid Colour - On
Adaptive Backlight Control - Min (Too dark in certain view if in Mid)
Ambient Sensor - Off
Intelligent Frame Creation - Min (a lot artifacts issue once reach Mid)
Clear Motion - Off
Advanced Setting - Contrast Control - Custom
Advanced Setting - Contrast Control Setting - Adaptive Gamma Control - 8
Advanced Setting - Contrast Control Setting - Black Expander - 10
Advanced Setting - Contrast Control Setting - Clear White Effect - 6
Advanced Setting - Colour Gamut - Auto
Advanced Setting - Gamma - 2.2

Before my calibration, in default normal the selection is hardly to see as too bright like white. Colour looks whiteout.

After my calibration, now selection is easier to see and colour look much appealing and correct.

OMG! I am so sad! My bought my TV mostly on Apple TV and the 4k HDR Dolby Vision is not support on this TV. So sad 😭😭😭 Already decided to buy this TV.
*
For local market If not wrong only LG OLED series TV support Dolby Vision.

From Dolby site only LG and Vizio support Dolby Vision. The list is not update because latest LG C7 is also support Dolby Vision.

I read from Apple’s support site, apparently Apple TV support HDR10 (https://support.apple.com/en-my/HT208074) So I guess I am safe! Right? Is HDR10 the best format? Or Dolby Vision is the latest and greatest?
*
I believe every device support HDR will support HDR10 because it is the free one. The best? Nope, Dolby Vision is the best but it is costly and not wide use due to you need paid fees to Dolby.

Sony TVs with the X1 Extreme chips have been updated to support Dolby Vision. But this is a software implementation compared to the hardware implementation in LG & Visio TVs. Don't know what differences are there between the software & hardware implementations.
*
I notice that also. I think it just a way it render. As long support HDR, I believe all can. This is just my assumption. Haha

Dolby vision is supported on all the LG high end LED (7,8 & 9 series) and OLED TVs since 2016. Unfortunately there is still very very few Dolby Vision movies. I have got only the demo videos to test the Dolby Vision.

It is a good news that Sony added Dolby vision support to their new high end TVs as well.
*
All Netflix HDR is in Dolby Vision if your device support it. I know this because my LG G6 mobile support Dolby Vision in Netflix.

I believe this is also same for Apple TV Box.

After sometimes usage, last few days I decide to reset all the picture setting I set as I notice I actually make everything a bit too contrast and dark.

After reset everything to default for my EX600 TV, I find the default actually the best looking but just way too bright and I didn't know that it is absolutely easier to fix by just turning on the Ambient Sensor. With this turn on, it will auto adjust accordingly to environment light condition. Panasonic doing this part very well and it do out the output absolutely stunning.

Now I am using Normal for all SDR content and Dynamic for all HDR content. Both with ambient sensor on, color temperature to Warm 1 and also completely turn off the Adaptive Backlight Control and Intelligent Frame Creation.

HI guys. I just got my EX600 and everything was fine until I tried netflix. It seem the volume is very low compared to when I'm watching YouTube..anyone encountered the same issue? Huhu
*
Netflix volume is like 50% lower than any others from Digital Television, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and etc.

This is normal.

I have a Sony TV with Android and I also face the same problem with Netflix sound being too low. When I use the Netflix app on the Nvidia Shield the volume is normal. Unfortunately, I prefer using the Netflix app on the TV because I can get Dolby Vision but have to crank up volume to the max. I think it has something to do with the audio stream that the Netflix app is passing through ARC since other apps don't have this problem.

Edit: I googled it and it seems that I should be changing the audio to stereo in the Netflix app instead of 5.1. That's a bummer since Sony TVs are capable to passthrough 5.1 Dolby Digital & DTS via ARC.
*
I only need turn volume up to 50 only. So it is fine for me. Others is in volume 25. Lucky not the max required for Panasonic but instead 50% of volume.

When I choose Dynamic on my 65EX600, the dark scenes have a lot of noise.
Do you encounter the same problem boss?
*
Hi, Dynamic only work for HDR movie. Don't set at SDR movie as it will look awful.

So far my dynamic in HDR movie no issue.

By the way 65" model is VA panel instead of IPS. Not sure how it apply.

*
Demo is never natural look because they want to bring out how striking HDR can.

Movies wise is different story.

Yea I have research and local dimming work completely different from back light dimming.

The menu is extremely limited and I have spent hours searching how to turn off the adaptive control.
My only hope is Panasonic have this secret menu in the TV where u can turn off adaptive backlight.

Else I'm gonna sell the TV and start a campaign to boycott Panasonic TV  sad.gif
*
If you choose standard instead of cinema mode, would this have option to turn off th he approv adaptive sensor?

Give it a trial.

Standard setting makes the colors look horrible. But the brightness level doesn't shifts as much in standard mode.

Only true cinema mode retains the original colors from the source. I don't understand why manufactures setup their display like this.
*
True Cinema not everyone prefer and it is too dim and yellowish to me if watch at normal light source.

True Cinema only looks nice when you watch at dark room which simulate the cinema environment but not for normal bright environment.

I watch at bright room, so my setting is standard but color from standard to warm. In this setting just nice for me, not too cool and not too warm as well.

By the way I am suprise you buy this Full HD TV now instead of jump to 4K HDR TV. Curious to know why?

Oh, I don't have any 4k content and I'm using the old PS4. Nothing in my house supports 4K.

I specifically wanted an non-smart, non 4k TV. What is most important to me is the panel and top priority is IPS panel.
I value accurate color reproduction above anything else  biggrin.gif

That's why I chose this TV. It is the only one I research that advertise itself for using IPS Panel at this price point.
I see Adaptive Backlight Dimming advertise as well but I don't know what that is. I thought it's some kind of marketing gimmick.
*
Oh I see. Got any firmware update? Maybe it will solve the adaptive backlight issue.

Mine (other Panasonic model) is turn on and it run perfectly well and nice. Don't have keep changing issue.
