GITS is one of my all time favourite movie. When it was previously announced that Scarlet is going to be taking up the role, I too am skeptical about it. Both sides give a sorts of reasons but personally I still think they should have went with a more asian looking woman. As for the movie, after knowing that they almost copy the anime scene by scene, it really turn me off. That means at most it is just on par with the anime. No surprises and so on. Even the iconic Batou character is underwhelming. So I wasn't expecting much from the movie and sure enough after reason the comment here, it shows that I am right. Really dissapointing in some way but I do like that they did not attempt to re-invent the whole movie like a lot of the games/anime to live movie adaptation.
