I was using Avast before my computer is reformatted last night

I dunno whether my files are infected by viruses 1st,
or avast has downloaded newly updated features which contained viruses inside..
(u know avast would auto updated by itelf)

when i launched my avast after the update..
it deleted all my important files in c:\windows,
it later made my computer needed a password to log in (i din set any pword before that), after i click cancel and log in, there was a blank.. and then it would auto log off..

I was really pissed off that nite.. cry.gif

Maybe it is because of virus infection and avast delete your infected files. But I don't think it can create a password for your computer la.

I'm still using Avast! and it is doing well for me. No problem at all.

You sure the files are deleted? Most antivirus just quarantine it so you can't see them.

2 possiblities.

1. A virus infected all those files. Files are severely infected. Needs to be deleted. (Very sad.)

2. The AVAST you downloaded is not GENUINE. There might be fake ones in circulation. Take note though.

I was using avast! earlier when I had this annoying brontok trojan. It (avast1)keep deleting the infected files but never got rid of it. After complete scanning, the trojan came back, over and over again...I had enough, downloaded AVG and my problems had disappeard....

Actually I had used AVG but also problems in cleaning a certain virus which avast! managed to clean!

I'll wait for the next 'cycle'... biggrin.gif

Well, I guess you should keep both of them. LOL. Then you might need to wait until you need Antivir to complete the cycle. LOL. It is very clear that 1 AV does not settle every virus problem.
