i just went to post something using post laju, very very expensive

they now kira like this:

panjang. length (cm) x lebar. width (cm) x tinggi. height (cm) then finally devide by 6000 = your post laju weight

i only post something for 1.5KG, but according to the post malaysia calculation above, my stuff is 5.148KG, it cost me RM29.40 !

how much is the rate for registered post?
*
PosDaftar is similar to normal shipping where u hav 2 weigh & then get stamps. Just that u need get the sticker for xtra RM 1.70. So, in short, the rate depends on weight

QUOTE(neaevia @ Nov 27 2006, 09:20 AM)
does this also applies to PosEkspress? blink.gif
*
PosEkspres doesnt require signatures so the posmen 'll just put inside mailbox or throw over into ur home compound

Hi all!

I just want to inquire, if I'm shipping somethin small (eg. RAM) would it be cheaper to send by POSTLAJU or private courrier companies? What would the approximate cost be? Would it depend on the size of the box I ship it in? Which would be the safer alternative?

Thanks!
*
PosEkspres 'll b cheapest. Get the box type

PosLaju 'll cost slightly more but faster

It's only cheap via courier companies if u hav account w/ them (means u need register & hav own company)

For PosLaju, it'll b updated the vry moment they scan ur form. For PosEkspres / PosDaftar once reach collection centre only

QUOTE(rudhrasamy @ Jan 1 2007, 12:29 PM)
Even if you declare it as non-document, most of the post office only charge for documents rate which is RM4.73 for below 0.5 kg. Recently i quoted a buyer for shipment charges for 100 pcs LED's with in Peninsular Malaysia. The seller referring to poslaju webpage where shipment for parcel is charged at RM8.00 for below 0.5kg . Should I pay RM 8 or RM 5?
*
The price for parcels' less than 500g is RM 4.73. There hasnt bn such thing as being charged RM 8 in my trading history unless btwn Peninsula & Sabah/S'wk

checked it from post laju website..the cost is RM56 for pos laju and approx RM15 for pos express..
which is more secure?

AFAIK, u cant ship somtin' as big as a casing via PosEkspres. Only 2 options available : PosLaju or standard parcel (u can add few more bucks for PosDaftar)

Alternately, u may enquire private courier companies. Some offer attractive rates even for walk-in customers but I'd totally 4gotten the charges

Hye guys, i have a question to ask, hope someone can clarify me on the following matter.

i am selling my psp to a fellow forumer here in LYN. the thing is, i'm in JB while he's in Kelantan, so far away thus have to do by postage. i wont be using poslaju due to past bad experience with them, instead will be using either skynet or abx courier service.

what i'm really worried of now is that if anything happen during shipping due to mishandling of the item, will the courier company hold responsibility for the damage and pay back the full amount of the item?

hope someone can answer this question for me, thanks a lot notworthy.gif
*
They wont compensate u fully & the terms varies frm 1 company to another. So the best is check w/ the one u gonna use directly. But if item just damaged/broken I dont think they'll even entertain

Gee ohmy.gif

Thanks for the answer bro. So in this case, buyer has to understand that seller shall NOT be held responsible for damage during shipping.....
*
Dats not fully rite. In my personal opinion, seller still has this 'limited' responsibilty like making sure item properly packed (befitting its nature) , updating customers on latest status & cross-check w/ shipping company in case any prob crops up

One definitely dont want a customer thousands of kilometres away ordering somtin' & later felt unsatisfied due to seller's own mistake.

Go as far possible in makin' their life easier & happier, & they'll come back again & again 2 u. They wont even think of other sellers tongue.gif

got a question here,
the fee of posting postlaju is different $$ at different area?
**my area parit buntar, perak
recently i post a parcel,
the fee is very expensive which reaches 20++,

but my customer said (sarawak),
the fee should be RM15+- and he said he very familiar with it
he said from penang post to sarawak should just at the cost he mentioned,
just hope someone can give me the answer,
thanks~

The questions is:
1. Is the postage fee different with different location?
2. Is the postage fee more expensive at ulu-ulu punya area?
The postage fee is pointed to sending parcel.

Probably u r bein' charged based on volumetric weight coz shipment charge frm anywhere in Peninsula to S'wk is uniform

QUOTE(twho @ Feb 11 2007, 12:25 AM)
hi,
i buying sumting on9 and the seller is sending the stuff using registered mail (posdaftar) and it cost RM9 for 950gram weight.

I juz want to know..
Is this price reasonable or his the seller extra-charging me?
What the difference between registered mail and poslaju?
It seem to be more expensive and slower....
Hope u guys can help me...
Thanks....
*
If it's within Peninsula, dats too high unless the seller is also charging for handling services

PosLaju is faster than PosDaftar (it's just normal delivery w/ xtra service whr recipient's signature required)

I got a question here regarding pos express services..

Every pos express envelope has stated the max weight and thickness right?
like RM2.50 one has stated Do Not Exceed Limit; Max Weight:100gm, Max Thickness:3mm

Let say i wanna post a stuff and the total weight and thickness are 110gm and 3.5mm respectively. What will happen if we exceed the limit given? Any actions taken by posmalaysia guyz?
*
Frm my xprience, nothin' happened. I xceed their specified limits so often tongue.gif

And the counter gals also told me dont worry, just make sure it's possible 2 seal the envelope properly

Act nothing much can b done since it doesnt require signature 2 con4m. I've heard complaints frm some customers previously that posmen simply throw the envelopes into their home compound sweat.gif

planing to send some teddy n stuff to sarawak, the box will be big due to obvious reason, will they charge me by volumetric calculation or just weight it? since its not breakable stuff, register pos/ pos express posible? how long it needs and wat r the rates?

i send an amp b4 to sabah i think with poslaju, they still weight it, cant remember how much tho.

U'll b charged according to volumetric weight

Unlike other shipping companies, PosLaju considers that as 2 separate parcels

QUOTE(spenny_yan @ May 1 2007, 09:53 PM)
actually is it secure? i scare damage.
*
PosLaju is indeed often more secure & reliable than others

QUOTE(waynelyp90 @ May 2 2007, 09:14 PM)
Don't send between weekends, sometimes it will get damage due to the weekend transit which they stack up all the things inside a store.
*
This isnt always the case all depends on the person(s) handling things. Somtimes even inside the post office the staff simply throw around

All shipments 'll b subjected 2 volumetric weight calc so my advice is pack it 1st & head straight 2 post office for exact rate

PosDaftar is act just standard method of shipping but w/ the added security whr signature is required hence it'll take ~3 days though I heard insiders told me they pay more attention to registered parcels which somtimes might make it delivered faster
