QUOTE(slickz @ Oct 18 2014, 03:15 PM) Just got it from underground_8. Nice guy! Yeah, I changed plans because it is not healthy for me to keep obsessing over when the phone would come. glad you got it early. WELCOME TO THE CLUB! Yeah it is unhealthy xDSo instead of sexy girl pic, here's my own shot of the phone versus 20 sen coin, to show how f***ing thin it is ![]() |

I feel that people saying iOS is super smooth and lag free is a bit of a stretch. I have seen areas where my S4 is sometimes smoother than my 6+. Notification on my 6+ stutters while trying to swipe away if I have lots of notifications. The 'Today' view is horrendously laggy sometimes especially if you have a few apps. I just turn on Wunderlist and Calendar to avoid lag for this. I notice that things are generally smoother on the 5S than on the 6+ (Blame it on the pixels). Anyway iOS in general has some up sides to it. I think it's the fastest to launch the camera and generally very fluid. Apple still has to optimise the OS further.
A bit off initial topic: Have you guys experience sudden slowdown for the wifi? It's been getting on my nerves. Also the range of my WiFi is a bit of a letdown. No problems with devices before the 6+. |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Oct 20 2014, 11:32 PM) You have to enable your mobile network data connection to enable hotspot settings. Yeah. After a while or so the phone becomes mundane. Even after showing your friends the new features. Usually they'll open up my camera, rotate landscape then they ask me what else is new, I struggle to find an answer. I've been waiting for a bigger screen for the iPhone that's it. Finally they swallowed their ego. The Note 4 certainly packs more in a much more generous price tag depending on what you like and what you plan to do with your phone.Means its sold by Dialog Hub. Depends on batch, some doesn't come with warranty. Sorry guys and gurls for being direct but I find nothing special about the Iphone 6 and 6+ after having it for almost a month now. Not much excitement bout the phone or its features to me after, coming from flagship models of android phones and previous iphones. I can say the phone and features are good but its no where as exciting like getting the previous versions of the iphone 4 and 5s. The best part about owning the iphone 6 and 6+ is probably the jealous looks from your friends and others seeing you already own one. |

QUOTE(Brianjys @ Oct 24 2014, 03:20 AM) Does OIS and 1080p really matter? Can you see the differences? I want the iPhone 6 so badly but the 750p and software-based OIS kind of set me off. 5.5 inch phone seems to be too big for me. What should i go for? #firstworldproblem If you have never used ois and 1080p on a phone then it won't matter. I used a Lumia 920 and an S4 before so omitting these features for a more palm friendly phone is a definite no-no. |

QUOTE(chaisin @ Oct 24 2014, 11:47 PM) I'm using 6+ 128GB. I've tried from iOS 8, 8.0.2 to the latest iOS 8.1 I have the 6+ 64GB and 8.1 fixed a lot of issues for me. Spotlight is smoother, heck, the whole OS feels more optimized now. WiFi doesn't slow down randomly - this was the biggest gripe I had. All in all a solid update. However I noticed a bug with the orientation. I don't know how it works but here goes. I unlock my phone in portrait and I find my WhatsApp in landscape. I gave the phone a shake in portrait. It won't budge (as if it was portrait already). I have to put my phone in landscape. (I'm guessing the phone will now say "Oh I'm in landscape") wait awhile then put my phone back to portrait. The animation will start and voila portrait. I encountered this a few times already. Just now, My spotlight search bar was for the landscape orientation in portrait mode. I had to rotate to landscape and back to portrait. It's a bit of an annoyance. However no one update can solve that crashing problem. I've more than 1000 apps installed since I'm using every generation iPhones since 3GS. I prefer to keep all the data including app. That's why I have a lot of apps in my iPhone (background opening app only those regular use apps, NOT open many apps and all keep running in background) I have NO problem in the past, even iPhone 5s after upgrading to iOS 8 also no crashing issue with so many apps restore from backup. But, the crashing issue is started since first day of using iPhone 6+ . At first I thought iOS 8 maybe not yet optimize for 6+ and I hope that iOS 8.1 will solve it as the crashing is really torturing. It just crash randomly and frequently. Called Apple technical support as the issue remain after update to iOS 8.1 but the staff feel very strange on that issue and unable to help. I tried reset all settings, restore iOS then restore in iTunes, tried many times of different troubleshooting also failed. Crashing remain. As some data really important for me so I can't totally set up as new phone. I need at least have the important data keep in the phone. So I started to try delete not important apps and its data. Now I left less than 200 apps. Restarted the phone and surprisingly it solve the crashing issue! No more crash after I delete those apps. Actually not only crashing issue, the iPhone 6+ got 4 major issues I face: 1. Crash randomly. Restart randomly and frequently. 2. Unable to change wallpaper. After set new wallpaper, it remain the same wallpaper. 3. Home button + power button cannot screen shot 4. Home screen icon will not rotate follie the direction I hold 6+ (portrait orientation in UNLOCK mode) Now all that 4 issues above solved by just delete apps. I'm not sure the issue appear with how many apps are installed. I guess this is an unnoticeable bug (as not much ppl actually keep too many apps), still I hope Apple hear our voice and look into the issue and fix it. Btw, from what I read thru online forum, it's seems only happen on 6+ 128gb model only. Anyone 6+ 128gb owner here encounter the same issue? |
