Managed to test my sister's 64GB iPhone 6 (SG set) for a very short while. Mainly tested apps I'll be using a lot.

Coming from 2 years of using a Note 2, and the past couple of weeks back to my laggy iPhone 4 on iOS 7.0.4

What I liked:
- SEXY. Slim and smooth like a woma ... Never mind. I like the feel of it in my hands. The size is perfect, not too big, not too small.
- Speed and smoothness. I must admit, I'm frustrated with my laggy iPhone 4. I probably based this point on my Note 2 vs. my iPhone 4
- very impressed with camera, took some test shots in a semi-low light condition and quite happy with how the pic turned out

What I didn't like:
- Not really impressed with the overall iOS experience as it doesn't offer anything new in the short time I sort with it. It's all very ... familiar. Maybe because I've been with Android for the past 2 years and I need to spend more time with it. It's like getting back together with your ex.

However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I have an ex that still asks me "I'm the best right?" but that's another story that probably belongs in the Cupid's Corner section tongue.gif

- not sure what iOS my sis has on her unit but I believe she has not updated so I think it's stock. Noticed that Safari doesn't have the "Open in background" option which I have on my iOS 7

Overall, I feel like there's something missing. Like, the magic is gone.

That said, either the 6 or 6+ are still my top choices for my Note 2 replacement. I was considering Nexus 5 or 6 as well.

Need to get my hands on the 6+ For further tests and comparison

Currently borrowed my sister's 4s to get over my frustration of my laggy 4 and late Malaysian release of the 6/6+

What happened to your note 2 bro? My case is quite similar to yours, coming from iPhone 4 then note 2 then back to iPhone after my Note 2 k.o..

The iPhone 4 is ridiculously slow and is driving me insane at times. A few message from WhatsApp can take anywhere from 5 seconds to load, not to mention not able to play Clash of Clans and Spotify at the same time  shakehead.gif

By the way, compared iPhone 4 vs 4S vs 6+ in a test of opening Clash of Clans, the 6+ obviously comes first then after a long long long time  yawn.gif iPhone 4 then only iPhone 4s, makes me doubt whether iPhone 4S is much faster   blink.gif

Am looking forward for 6+ as sometimes too much options may not be a good thing  laugh.gif

Don't know whether I can wait for Malaysia launch or will go insane and buy overseas unit before launch  drool.gif  because really..

IPHONE 4 IS DRIVING ME INSANE  icon_question.gif

Started having problems after I updated to KitKat 4.4.2. My Note 2 would randomly restart and one day, it just hang on the boot up screen.

Same case here with Whatsapp and FB messenger. Takes a long time to open and my iPhone speakers are faulty (really low volume even at max setting).

I'm also tempted to get ready stock now but trying to wait. It's a daily battle. Concerned about warranty issues and unit exchanges. So that's why I'm waiting it out.

The other dilemma I have is that I just changed jobs and DiGi signal has blind spots at my new workplace. Thinking of porting to Maxis and hence waiting for local Telco pricing and plans. Saw the new Maxis plan but 2GB seems abit sad for Internet quota though for RM 128/month

So in the end I couldn't live with iPhone 4 until launch and got myself an aus 6+. The camera is just wow (can't rmb bout my note 2), low light photos (even selfies :/) are substantially brighter less noise and clearer  rclxms.gif  speed wise, say bye bye to delayed keyboard and 2 mins to load whatsapp (gosh).

Best thing bout ip6? It blends into your life, nothing to shout about, just natural.

Bro, I can't remember - were you the one that had the same Note 2 problem with me? Finally bit the bullet eh? biggrin.gif thumbup.gif

yeah, maybe they put pine-APPLE picture becos they dont want to make it too obvious, if they put the real red/green apple picture then for sure we already know it...
*
Actually, you may be right. Also, they probably need to follow corporate colors. Guess there're are no yellow apples or are very rare? Or, because it's been already used in other competitor's teasers.

Ex-DiGi staff here but ... I didn't check with ex-colleagues about iPhone 6/6+ plans as my new work place has bad reception in certain areas and planning to port-out.

The main reason why I ported over to Celcom to buy Note 4. Got rm600 discount n only rm88 for 5gb data.
Maxis One plan w phone purchase is expensive
Is worth it as my monthly data alone averages 4 gb
*
Hi, just wondering - you ported to Celcom using keeping your old number? How was the porting process eg. how long did the processing to switch over take and how long was the disruption when switching to new Telco?

Also, which location are you in? Any idea if Celcom is good in certain parts of PJ say, opposite PJ Hilton near KFC shoplots? I work in the area get 0 bars sometimes in certains shops there when having lunch etc.

I know for sure that Maxis has line there as colleagues are either on Maxis or DiGi only.
Sorry, too many questions. I'm widening my options as I saw that Maxis data with the plans are really low for the current plans. 2GB is borderline insufficient for me. Currently on 3GB for DiGi and there was once or twice I exceeded my quota. Celcom's RM 88 for 5GB data sounds like a steal!

Unless of course, MAXIS ROI is delayed because they're tailoring new plans to go with the new iDevices.

ROI has nothing to do with the plan
*
It's possible. Another possibility is that they want to sync everything - Launching new plans requires alot of time, such configuring the billing system, training, updating their "intranet" FAQs for the Call Center staff to be ready for the assault by customer calls enquiring about new plans etc.

I live to tell the tale from the iPhone 3GS launch during my stint with DiGi sweat.gif

For your info, Maxis new plans are already ready. I would think they are just not as quick as Digi in announcing their ROI or rather I wonder if they are still calculating if they have enough to go around for their own customers.
*
So it seems the tables have turned, when I was with the Yellow Man, I believe we used to wait for the other 2 before any new product launches. That's why at that point of time, DiGi could always say they were the "cheapest"/most affordable.

Pricing can be adjusted after the competition have announced.

Of course I've no longer in this industry - things may be very much different today. It was a few years ago, my memory may be cloudy as well wink.gif

So what are these new Maxis plans? Something other than the ONEPlan? If that's the case, Maxis may have something that I'd like ... looks like I'd have to wait and see I suppose.

I don't think there will be any screen protector that covers the whole screen bro.
I've seen most shops all selling this sized screen protectors.

Btw managed to upload the Spigen casing as per below smile.gif

QUOTE(C63 AMG @ Oct 23 2014, 12:41 PM)
The Good:
1. Looks good
2. Protects the phone very well (especially the camera) - plus the front section is slightly elevated as well so the phone doesnt sit flat on its screen

The Bad:
1. Makes the phone feel significantly wider (and slightly taller too) - all in all it feels larger in the pocket (something I don't really fancy)
2. The sides (the white plastic part) tend to attract smudges rather well and thus gets slippery after some using.
3. The buttons on the inside requires fixing (Spigen made this case before the iPhone was actually released) by sticking stickers in them (if you've used the Power Support Flat Bumper you'll understand)

Conclusion: Great for those searching for a good looking case that will protect the iPhone well. Not good if you're into super slim devices in your pocket.

Super Nice-looking case bro thumbup.gif

Just wondering, any issue of the flash light "reflecting" off the edges of the camera cutout affecting the pic?

I used to have a case for one of my phones (Can't remember what phone and what case) where that happened, affected the shot. Had to take it out of the case when I wanted to use flash doh.gif

It was probably a cheap case though. Can't remember now ... I hardly have issues like that these days. Then again, I hardly take pics with flash these days ...

Haha..  No la, I don't carry a Man Bag, haha. It fits in my pocket, even when I'm wearing jeans. When I first switched to Note from iPhone 5 I also thought the phone was humongous and I can't fit it into my pocket, but surprisingly it does and I got used to it fairly quickly.

Reminds me of the scene in "Hangover" where Alan was carrying his "satchel" and the other guys were calling it a "man purse" tongue.gif

Are Maxis will reply us by today? Just curious.

I haven't received anything to date.

Question for those using the 6 Plus especially, any one using any 3rd Party keyboards? Does it have an extra row of numbers on top of the alphabets? I'm going to miss that from my Note 2 days. Already feeling it since I'm back to using iPhone 4 now.

Maybe the next update would have a new keyboard layout. No point having a "taller" screen but not making use of it by adding an additional row for numbers methinks hmm.gif

Thank you. Hopefully coming updates will fix this!

Me too - once you go Big you don't go back - just curious on how the IP6+ will handle putting it in the pants as my note 3 is always in my pocket - front and usually back - no bending issues..maybe a good case will solve any bending issues... tongue.gif
*
Think I'm leaning to the 6 Plus now. I'm definitely getting a case. Had no issues with Note 2 in jeans or slacks pockets previously.

A long term review might be helpful for those who are undecided
*
Aiseh. Safari on my 4S keeps crashing when I'm trying to read that review. Time to change ...

My opinion a few pages back is that it's not going to be much of a real upgrade for me.

As of now, functions I know I will miss from my Android experience:

- app sharing. Example I can share my photos with just about any app from the album (I believe iOS has slight improvement do this?)

- extra row of numbers on keyboard so I don't have to hit one extra button to switch fon alphabet to numerical keys (maybe future update release)

Experience fiddling with sister's iPhone 6. Was an iPhone original user, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, iPhone 4, Galaxy Note 2 and currently iPhone 4S.

As I mentioned, iOS is familiar and not much massive changes. To me, if I feel if you've been using iOS before, you'll be up and running in no time with an easylearning curve. If you're switching from a smaller phone like iPhone 4 a 5s range, you'll get the experience of the bigger screen and battery life (from what I've been reading so far).

If switching from phablets like Note 2 or 3 or other 5-inchers, it's the iOS experience and battery life.

So far I've never bothered to find any wallpapers yet for the phone. The stock wallpapers already are fine for me. The black background help it blend into the screen and bezel.

Most of you saw the stock apple photo showing the purple flower on black background right? Well here it is in real life photo. When shown in the right light, the screen just blends into the phone. A week plus with the phone and the display still wows me.
*
Actually, Apple's stock photo of this photo on their site wow-ed me for some reason. This and the orange one.

I haven't seen the actual one in hand yet. Is it a stock wallpaper in the phone. Didn't check when I was testing sister's SG unit

I waited about 40 mins max then gave up. Managed to see price and plans, but think I'll get the phone without contract and port in to Maxis later on surf more plan or something.

I'm more of a data user compared to voice.

Is it me or are the RRP prices different for different telco?

Tried to check but I think there's a slight difference when comparing the plans. Can someone please post up on first post once available? Many thanks.

Think I give up on getting with a contract - plans don't really suit my needs and budget. May wait for retail sale then switch to SurfMore MAXIS. unless I change my mind again ...
