I don't see many telcos giving options for 12 months contract anymore, maybe with the exception of celcom? Most are going for 24 months now.

Maxis will always have 12 months for iPhone. If they discontinue 12 months then bye bye contract. I won't be tied down for 24 months like those DiGi fools...

that explains why they wont allow me to pre order the phone this time round, i have an 5s contract ending december 15. usually they allow me to extend contract if i go for a one year contract.

the "smart" iValue plan is really take advantage of the Customer. if you count the total cost. it is really expensive.. better just buy outright and use the plan..

Let see this year will Maxis have better plan.

Better buy anything you want before the GST kick in..
*
Actually not

2gb of plan cost rm50

Rm30 basic plan

Total u need to spend is rm80.

Contract is rm100 u save 20 each month

1 yr save rm240

Phone 1 yr contract normally they subsidize rm300 to rm400.

Well u see.

As far as I recall, only once Maxis iPhone package has 2 years contract, and that is iPhone 4.
Not 4S, 5, 5S.
The rest are just standard 1 year warranty, which I believe for iPhone 6/6+ will be 1 year as well.

If you look at their trends, previously they offered 1 year contracts for all devices (including Android devices and iPads) but now most of the contracts are for 2 years, even for all the new devices. I don't know, I've never bought an iPhone from maxis before so lets see how it pans out

Well, everyone has choices to do what they please. Not sure if all this telco bashing is necessary, ha ha... (it's happening at every thread, apparently)

Bash or no bash, to me its simple. You dont like it, just bring your business elsewhere. No point getting upset over this. Many telcos and resellers for you buy from.

I don't think so.

Let's take iValue 1 for instance. RM100 per month. RM1200 per year.

Maxis subsidise the iPhone 5S 16gb when I bought it during launch last year at RM1799. (Retail price RM2399) That's RM600 I save from buying outright.

So take the RM1200 I pay for bill per year deduct RM600 savings from iPhone purchase. That's RM600 only for the phone bill per year. That's RM50 per month.

Now tell me, which plan offer 2gb data, 333 min talk time, 1000min maxis to maxis, 1000sms maxis to maxis at RM50 per month?

I sign up with Maxis iValue plan since 3GS, 4, 4S, 5. I am 100% sure they have 1 year plan for iValue as this is what I used to sign. It used to have RM600 discount for 1 year iValue plan for iPhone, they have reduced to RM450 now. 2 years even worse around RM750(RM300 more than 1 year plan). Bad thing about iValue plan is if you want to top up 1GB data will cost you RM48 while surfmore 50, top up 1GB is RM15! Any non-net sms like Digi, celcom will cost you 0.10 cent on top your month RM100 plan. If these 2 disadvantage doesn't affect you, the call plan is really enough for normal user to call as you want as 1000 minutes given to maxis to maxis. I will not switch plan for sure as Penang has LTE since 1-1-2014. Living in LTE is like you will never want to goto normal 1-2Mbps 3G. I use to get 10-20Mbps most of the time in Penang Island. I haven't seen Digi & Celcom have LTE in Penang yet.

I'm on data most of the time rather than calling. So I use my surfmore 75 plan with iphone 6 (no plan, just purchased phone). I think it is better without plan for anyone whom use data more than calling, not worth tying on contract for 2 years like last time I did with my IP4S sad.gif
