I just got mine tonight.
From a forumer though, lol.
I've been using the iPad Mini Retina for a long time, and then the iPhone 6 Plus, so coming off from those two devices the iPad Air is kind of huge. But I'm appreciating the extra screen real estate. Reading is a complete joy -- I read a lot of longform articles and I've been breezing through a lot of my old backlog tonight, so yay. Comics are gorgeous on the screen.
I did use the original iPad Air for a brief period of time before favoring the size/portability of the Mini, so my memory might be a little hazy, but comparing this iPad with the original Air, I don't really think you'd notice a difference in terms of size and weight, especially if you're using a case. Like the original Air is still really thin/light/awesome tablet all-around. I'm using my Air 2 completely naked with a sleeve, so at times I do notice how light/thin it is. Other times, it's just prop up on a stand, so those things disappear and you don't notice them as much. Touch ID is essential, so I appreciate its addition on the Air 2.
Overall, I'm enjoying the device a lot.
