yes, smoked translucent cover at the back. very slim and nice and yes will protect from even heavy bumps as the material feels very tough yet super slim. highly recommended.

Google for 'Rock Touch Series case for iPad Air 2'. It's slimmer and lighter than the apple leather case and most importantly its about 1/3 of the price!

really, i've been using for almost 2 months now, still looks new and sturdy. maybe they have improved on the material. anyway i love this case and furthermore the back is a soft plastic semi tranparent whcih shows the ipad aifr 2 design.
