I'm not sure where I should post this, but I think since I'm enquiring abt market rate of a business, I think it's appropiate if I post it in this section.

Anyways, let's go to the issue.

I am abt to deal abt a computer maintenance services for a computer learning centre of capacity 50 computers. Since I've never done this as a form of business, I'm not sure what service are included in the term "computer maintenance". I assume it should be any services that are necessary to keep the client's computer up to date and problem free and operating efficiently.... whistling.gif

So, guys, I would like to know if any of you have been involved in providing such services of similar nature and I would like to know your opinions on the rate that I should charge for performing computer maintenance on 50 computers ( just service charges, charges for hardware and software licensing issues are separate cases).

Just wanted to know since I don't want to be the person to start offering such services at a rate far lower than the market rate, don't want to spoil the computer service provider market.... icon_rolleyes.gif

I have no experience on this. But, I think you should consider the condition of the computer, if the computers are new, the troubleshooting work will be less. If the computers are in network, consider the troubleshooting and maintenance work on the network as well. When the computer is down, how long you have to fix the problem? If the dateline is tight, the fee should be higher, especially if you need to work at night or midnight.

In my opinion, RM50-RM60 per hour is a reasonable price, but also can charge at higher price such as RM70-RM80 per hour...
