This is the reason maybank didn't approved your application. You must have commitment atleast car loan for them to trace your payment record. Im told personally by maybank staff if you literally don't have any commitment, it's hard for them to approved. Not because of your income.
*
That's worrying to hear. I have no commitments except for my mobile phone bills and my PTPTN loan. Currently waiting a few months more to apply for this credit card. hmm.gif Will the amount I have in my savings help?

savings, if it is in maybank as well, does help..

when i first applied for my mb2gold card, i only have 2 months payslip, with around 2.9k salary, below their requirement.. i submitted, and still got it approved in 1 hour.. however, you will need to have a substantial amount inside the account tho wink.gif
*
RM2.9k is below the requirement? I thought the requirement for Gold was RM30k per annum, which is RM2.5k per month?

Section 4.7 & 4.9 of the TnC mentions that results will come out within 16 weeks from end of the campaign period. So there's a chance you might have to wait for up to 4 months to know the results sweat.gif

huh?

last time maybank compensate rm50 for 1 card, now maybank no need to bear for the rm50, not untung meh?  rclxub.gif
*

Yes, Maybank untung. But to be precise the untung isn't from the GST payment, the untung is because they are no longer paying for the GST out of their own pockets.

'Untung' not same as 'kurang rugi' leh =)

If you are used to spending RM2k a month for expenses then your son moves off to his own house and you only spend RM1k is it you untung? Or your expenditure down? For me untung is money in, not money don't go out.

I stand corrected. smile.gif

Sorry, just to confirm. These promo/contest does not require us to actively join...right? As in, it's a passive thing. Sign up and spend, you're automatically in the running without the need to send an sms/email/etc.

Is this a correct assumption?
*
Correct. However, for the Volkswagen Polo one, Section 2 of the TnC states that the shortlisted winners will be asked a series of 5 questions. The one who answers all/the most will be declared as the winner. So just don't be too blur if you happen to get a call from them about this smile.gif

Does anyone have any experience on what these questions might be like?

We are going off-topic here, but I just want to remind you of something: banks are not in the business of helping people. Banks are in the business of making money. Do not think that taking loans from banks will solve your financial problems. If you are not prepared for it you will only be causing more trouble for yourself in the long run. icon_rolleyes.gif

Updates:

Maybank called me, saying the card issued was a token of appreciation to me as a loyal customer. Maybank, what makes you think by giving a credit card to your customer is a way of appreciation?
Credit card is not a free card!!! Customer need to pay for the annual fee, the GST, & the HUGE interest if credit repayment is not made on time!
This is not a correct appreciation method!!! Are they out of their mind?
*
Wow, that's extremely sketchy of Maybank to be doing things like that. I assume you had some "nice" words to say to the Maybank representative who called? What's the status now? Card cancelled with apology?

QUOTE(maskedchan @ Dec 11 2014, 04:50 PM)
there is no annual fees for this card..so it is free..
GST need to pay please blame government..nothing to do with bank..
since now got promotion, use 3 times each card then can get back the GST..

delay payment for one or two days can ask bank to waive it..
if still cannot make payment on time, it is solely repsonbility of the user..nothing to do with bank smile.gif
*
Whether the card has annual fees and who gets the GST payment is not the point. Imagine going to IKEA to buy a wardrobe. When they deliver it to your house, they bring along a packet of nasi goreng for you. They tell you "nah, since you are so nice to us, we bought you this nasi goreng. But you have to go pay the restaurant down the street for it." Your head goes rclxub.gif as you try to process the situation.

Banks should not automatically register credit cards without customer's consent. What Maybank should've done is called bluebay and said "hey! We like you so much. We're offering you this credit card and we will waive GST for you for the first three years. How does that sound?"

tgv tebrau jusco, johor.
in the end i watch the normal one instead. At first he try to process, but seems like the imax buy 1 free 1 entry is no longer in their system, so he go and ask his manager and confirm with me this promo end earlier  doh.gif
*
Next step: call Maybank and triple confirm this information.

Tesco now changed their membership card to touch and go. Reload available using Amex card 2, yay! And also cn be used to make payment at half the counters that allow payment with touch and go.
*
Reload directly from Tesco themselves? Because over at the TnG thread there are conflicting reports. Some Tesco says cash only, some say can use credit card rclxub.gif
