Guys, some advice needed please.

I currently have HLB Wise and Maybank Gold AMEX but I usually maximise my usage for Wise - I pay for petrol + mobile + dining with Wise). I intend to cancel my Gold AMEX as I got it quite some time ago for the 20% cashback promo back in 2012 but I don't use it that much.

Now I want to get another card for my other spending - shopping! I have considered cashback cards but none are good for shopping. So I'm changing my focus to rewards cards.

My question is, can M2C totally replace Wise or do I retain Wise for petrol, mobile, dining and use M2C for only shopping and other stuff?

Perhaps I wasn't very clear about what I meant.

I currently have 2 cards - Wise and AMEX Gold. I'm going to cancel AMEX Gold in the near future because I think M2C has better benefits, all-in-all a better AMEX option than the AMEX Gold. Note that this AMEX Gold is not M2C.

I was just asking if I should just keep M2C or should I retain my Wise to complement the M2C.
*
if your primary reason to get a 2nd card for shopping, perhaps Citibank Rewards/Cashback cards would be better?

Since your Wise already maximized, it's hard to "downgrade" the benefits to other cards biggrin.gif This is the only card that gives >5% cashback, and since your spending behavior already adjusted to meet Wise's benefits, it's better to keep it. Unless, of course you planned to STOP using Wise (about 2 months earlier) and cancel it due to high AF for Wise Platinum.

Keep your current Wise for your usual petrol + mobile + dining spending. Please cancel the AMEX Gold. laugh.gif

M2C Amex is the better card to complement Wise. Limitation to M2C Amex is the 5% cashback only limited to weekends transactions. Moving Wise to Amex means you need to swipe all your usual transactions exclusively on weekends.

'sides, M2C has signup promo with RM100 rebate (note: 2x RM50 GST is currently imposed to new application). This is literally ZERO commitment for year 1 considering M2C has no AF. Furthermore, most likely, current credit card GST could be abolished by 1 Apr 2015. Let's hope Maybank doesnt introduce AF for M2C (which will be taxable at the rate of 6% GST next year).

Motortakaful/Etiqa online still doesn't accept MBB2Amex even though the payment page showed the Amex option which has been there for many years. Just wonder why MBB still keep it there if it doesn't accept Amex.
Will use MBB2Visa tomorrow, so no 5xTP  cry.gif  but will aim for rm300 CB. Wonder JPJ accepts Amex for Roadtax.
*
Motortakaful/Etiqa online never accepted amex wan. probably outdated page/form.

jpj kiosk accept amex though, but since jpj office doesnt open on weekends (if i'm not mistaken), can only earn 5xTP. better than nothing.

Possible using online platform to make payment?
*
https://www.posonline.com.my/ or https://payonline.uob.com.my/

AMEX not accepted on both, so read the T&Cs/FAQs fully (e.g. POSonline has this 2% will be charged upon credit card usage)

Hi all,

Quite new with CC and I have this confusion.
According to the below attachment, I should pay the statement balance right?  doh.gif
[attachmentid=4286110]

for easier tracking, yes, just pay the statement balance, each card.

not to worry the -RM8.19. even if you pay the full statement balance, it will be normalized once next statement is out.

Anyone experienced upgrading Gold to Platinum? The added benefits without additional cost seems interesting.. Do they have to cancel current to reapply for the "Platinum" ones; or can upgrade by calling CS?
*
did that. the only benefits is prettier cards laugh.gif i dont need those extra benefits though.

from Gold to Plat, need to fill up forms/submit income documents at card centre. i did it at MV/Gardens maybankard centre.

now my worries is will they charge 6% on the total amount each month?
*
no, GST is not imposed to your account balance (e.g. savings or FD or CC)

GST only imposed to goods or services, hence any Annual Fees or whatever fees (for services rendered) will be taxable.

This is why it's a good time to get M2C now due to no AF and RM50 rebate.

One question remains: Will banks forced to introduce AF to all CCs? considering M2C has no AF, will MBB introduce AF after 1-Apr? This, we dont know.

erm... but this is a news article by rakyat post on a website at alliance bank.

so we can't take it as the whole truth? but i would think if they still DON't abolish the RM50, it's stupid and ridiculous. So much for promoting card usage in malaysia and reducing currency in circulation.
*
actually the GST guideline for banking/financial institution already stated it clearly what is taxable and non-taxable.

questions remained uncertain on what the banks will do to their cards. on one hand to increase card usage/spending, on the other to curb excessive debt/overspending due to cards.

i wonder BNM will intervene later sweat.gif

Hi, I had some enquiries regarding 100% cash everyday. Let's say I already swipe the card 3 time before I register via SMS. Did it consider I already fulfill the 3x swipe t&c??
Can I check the cash back via card statement at m2u? Usually it take how long to credit the 'cash back' to me?
*
read the T&Cs? http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/loveCb011014_tnc.pdf

also, 100% cashback promo and 3X swipe promo (new signup) are two separate campaigns.
