The statutory body that is responsible to administer and manage the implementation of this policy via FiT mechanism
is SEDA. Currently SEDA has approved 2628 renewable energy applications with a total installed capacity of 484 MW
since the implementation of the FIT mechanism on 1 December 2011. Of this total, 655 projects with a total installed
capacity of 118 MW have begun operations. SEDA Malaysia also noted that solar photovoltaic has also shown a steady
growth in Malaysia. It said that until 30 September 2013, solar PV had the highest percentage for approved applications
or 39.7% or 192 MW of installed capacity. smile.gif

Feed-in Tariff typically offers from government as a guaranteed purchase agreement for electricity generated from renewable energy sources. It achieves this by offering long-term contracts to renewable energy producers like companies, industry or individuals, these agreements are generally framed within long-term (21 year) contracts.

Feed-In Tariffs also are the electricity part of what some people call Clean Energy Cash back , a scheme that pays people for creating their own "green electricity" transit to useful electricity and sell to Tenaga Nasional Berhad. smile.gif
