Here's the steps:
1. Download the OTA
2. Turn off device.
3. Turn on device while holding volume down (select recovery) and press power.
4. Apply update (from device) navigate your way to your download folder and select the zip file and apply. To navigate use volume up and down and select with power.
5. When the updates done go back and wipe cache.
6. Reboot and enjoy.

Is step 5 is necessary? I have update to 38R without step 5, will it cause any harm if I didnt wipe cache after update to 38R?

This is what I did, manual update to 38R, mine is root with TWRP. Manage to update smoothly and remains root after update to 38R

Come join in franco.Kernel fan club  laugh.gif

Anyway back to topic, 2 ways of doing. Either download boot image and flash using fastboot OR download the zip file and flash using custom recovery (TWRP / CWM). wink.gif

NOTE : I bear no responsibility if you screw up  rclxub.gif , please make a TWRP / CWM backup before proceed  laugh.gif
