I tested the camera today, using RAW and also the FV-5 app. I can definitely say that using RAW has so many advantages for PP purposes. I like that the RAW format that is used is DNG as many editing software can be used to edit this type of file. So if you feel like the shot that you are about to take is something that you would want to cherish later, use RAW and you will be surprised with how much editing you can do compared to JPG. But if it is just a normal snapshot, use of JPG is enough as the RAW file is really huge, around 15MB per file.
I also tried comparing the shot from the stock camera with FV-5. I can see that the stock camera has better exposure control but FV-5 has better auto white balance. EXIF for both shots: 8s Matrix metering AWB ISO 200. You can have a look at the shots here https://imgur.com/a/41714 1st - RAW to JPG convert. No editing 2nd - RAW to JPG convert. Minor editing with exposure and contrast. Minor sharpening. 3rd - JPG SOOC from stock camera. 4th - JPG SOOC from FV-5 This post has been edited by azerak: Oct 10 2014, 11:13 PM |
