would like to ask all sifu here.

bought MSI GL62 6QF, i7 6700hq, 1tb hdd, 4gb ram

so was thinking of upgrade ssd & ram

1. If im not mistaken, there is extra slot just for ssd. m2? so I just search and buy ssd m2 right?
2. If there is, can I add ssd and use that port as boot up windows?
3. Do I need to send back to shop to upgrade it? can bring my own ssd and ram right? how about service centre?
4. Ram is DDR4?

thanks guys

Yeap, there's one slot for m.2 ssd, to make things easier if u wanna DIY, just get Samsung and use their Data Migration tool.

Ram is DDR4 2133 mhz.

Thanks friend

There's no MSI representative here in Brunei, so normally most shop here just deal with Malaysia distri side.

They can help us reseller to do the delivery just like drop ship. When we got customer, we just pass them the payment and inform them address and what not biggrin.gif

As far as I know, most will support. I tried the Evo and Pro edition before and both works like a charm.

If you want to DIY, let me warn you first, one bad thing bout MSI is that , when you want to upgrade, you have to open up the whole bottom casing to do upgrades. Those pins that hold them are VERY fragile especially the front part. But if you break them, no biggies as they have 4 screws to lock em.

But both got different pin. Got me confuse to which one to purchase. Huhu

Both will work since both are M.2.

Different pin because both are different. One is Sata one is PCIe.

Thanks. Currently recovering. The evo should be the latest gen 3 which support higher speed.

That is not evo, haha that is the 950 Pro PCIe NVMe. That is really fast but expensive. Bad thing is that, because of it's speed, it tends to be a bit more hotter
*
Hahaha my bad. Btw done transfer to ssd. Performance much much faster weh. Should at least 5 times faster
