Just a word of caution though since I'm Australian educated engineering student.

Don't take for granted that when the university tells you that it's a 4 years degree program means you can complete the degree in exactly 4 years like local universities do.

In general, a BEng paper in Australia has about 35 modules to complete. Each year you'll have like 2 semesters and a short one  at the end of the year.Taking 4 subjects per semester is a really crazy thing to do and I must warn you that most of the time you'll barely get through with passes or if you're lucky, probably score in one or two of the subjects.

Unlike in local colleges where I've seen students taking over 5-6 subjects in a single semester and still make it with most subjects getting As, do not compare this with Australian universities.I'm already 23 this year and while all my friends who entered local universities with the same engineering course that I took have graduated, I still have another year to go with my degree.

You may one to ask other Australian students in this forum about how they find about the number of years they took to complete their degrees.3 subjects itself is already taxing.Four subjects per semester is the maximum that you can take although the universities won't stop you from taking a much as you like since resitting means more money.

I have a Australian friend who is taking double majors in engineering and business administration is already 26 this year and he tells me that his course is taking so long to complete.

erm i'm not quite sure if i get what u mean but a max of 4 subjects ? I'm going into 3rd year in UNSW .. i had like 7 subjects last sem .. no problems so far ? But i gotta agree .. stuff is hard ... dun think SPM 10A .. go there can get all HD .. i'm barely passing everything too ..

7 subjects in one semester at UNSW?
OMG...that's like suicide man.But I think you're a very bright student to make it through.Passing all 7 subjects in one semester is already considered a feat itself.
Are you undertaking an engineering course? thumbup.gif

*
engineering it is lol .. i dun have a choice tongue.gif the course is planned out that way hahah 7 subjects ... siao

Wow, I have been worrying about this for weeks. However, I am underweight.
Is this a problem? Will this cause any difficulties when applying for visa?
What do you mean by "tell your doctor to give you healthy status"?

10 point or 100 point?

i remember that a ECOE, pasport and ID is the 100 point stuff...driving license  i m not to sure..

ohya..thos going aussie land...recently i saw ocbc  malaysia allow student to open ANZ acc at thr bank..so those who is going..try to grab this as an opportunity option..
*
Chotomateee ... passport 100 points ? No frigin way lol ... confirm no .. i juz did my working visa .. erm i also forget la .. asalkan if u wanna apply anything in australia ( bank account, age proff card, working visa ) u need 'points' it depends lor .. passport gives you 20 points or so .. uni offer letter also important .. keep it .. around 10 points ? Around there la .. asalkan to do any documentation .. you need at least 2 or 3 documents la .. i recommend you getting the 18age proof card ( now called photo card ) as well ... it's a good replacement for your passport so u dun hav to carry it all over the place ...IINM it gives the same ammount of points as your passport too .. i think 50bux for 5 years ... for the photo card .. go get it

oh and btw ANZ sucks lol ... limited ATM .. Commonwealth bank best la .. everywhere you can get ATM .. n best of all .. there is a branch in the uni's upper campus go get your account there .. got a lady (forgot her name) from malaysia tongue.gif Super frenly ... from ipoh 1 haha .. u go in straight can see 1 la .. 'malaysian face' lol .. she very 'jiu gu' all the malaysians 1 tongue.gif dun wry .. go find her haha

edit: whoops tongue.gif the bank part applies for sydney only ok tongue.gif and the msian lady is working in UNSW's commonwealth branch .. and for more information on the point system i think you can check www.rta.gov.au ... not sure about the website la .. google 'rta australia'
