Curtin International College, Perth in 2007

Anyone going there as well? I'm not sure if I should take the Commerce Stream or the Mass Com stream.

I really like languages and communications but my brother discourages that because he says it's hard to get PR.

x.x Is it worth sacrificing something I like to get the PR?

What's the demand for accountants and economists as opposed to Mass Com graduates' prospective jobs in Australia?

Same over here. It has already been 8 days.

Are you below 18? They say if we're below 18, it might take longer. That or the immigration people have decided to go for another holiday. >.>

@Sesshoumaru: Well, I can't attach the weight of each category because I packed them all together in a bag and a few boxes. Besides, the weight will vary for other people depending on the weight of the bag they use. My bag seems to be the heaviest. x.x 6.5kg when it's empt, what a waste of weight!!! Argh! As for the quilts/blanket, my brother advised me to get it there since malaysia's comforters are too thin for the weather during winter.

@chris: o.0 *glomps* Thank you for the brilliant idea!!! Now the problem is how to save the ISO thing. x.x My Nero only allows me to save it in NRG. Is it different?

@KV: I haven't really decided on the course yet. x.x I applied for Commerce but there's a big chance I might switch to Mass Com when I arrive. I'll be studying in Perth.

I've already gotten the extra 10kg limit. ^^ Thanks for the advise. If I'm not mistaken, the extra 10kg limit is given to you upon the presentation of your student card and that no application is necessary? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm from penang as well! Going to Curtin International COllege. Well, I've registered for the Diploma of Commerce so that I may continue to accountancy in order to obtain the PR. However, accountancy is not something I'd like to see myself doing in future. So with the free time I had, I've been thinking and I'm still torn between security and doing the thing I like.

Where are you studying? Which course?

Eek!!! I didn't know SQ gave out 40kg!!UMph!! Will try them next time. Too late to change my ticket now. x.x

Well, I think Enrich members and international students get extra limit everytime. I don't know but my brother gets it all the time when he goes.

@Sesshoumaru: *glomps* Lol... sorry i misunderstood. No wonder I got stumped when you said quilts. XD o.0 omg.. 200 aud is like RM600!!! o.0 Are blankets any cheaper than that?

^^ Thanks for clearing that up, QuackSilver.

Apart from that, I would like to know if I should get my sneakers here or there? Different sources have given me two different answers. They say that Reeboks or Nike are cheaper there or something.

Next, referring to Perth's weather, how cold can it get? Do I need to bring trench coats or heavy jackets? I already have them with me so the question is whether to bring them or not.

Besides that, are shorts or pants used more there? Since I have limited packing space. x.x

Eek... I'm going to board the plane in three hours. x.x My anxiety, excitement and sadness are all merged together at this moment. Add lack of sleep to that and you'll get a weird MildBluese.

Anyone else going to Perth today or soon?

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone.

It's like a normal day here in Perth x.xexcept that there was lion dance at a dim sum restaurant we dined in.

I arrived here safely on Friday with an overweight baggage of more than 10kg because bloody MSL x.x only gave a 20kg limit. Thank god the counter person let me pass after a lot of persuasion. So, next time when you collect your tickets, make sure you check your ticket and see if they give you 20kg or 30kg limit.
