+3kk!, with all the customization options asides, would you think the newer American Pure Vintage Tele is on par with the Dano, sound and quality wise?

its hard to say, the AVRI had sticky neck issues cause of the nitro, you google it and its quite common. it goes off after a while but normally it needs quite a bit of playing. that to me is prb one of the major reasons why i never took home the 52 AVRI from bents

workmanship and quality is also an issue as fender is notoriously inconsistent, so while this Dano is a bit sloppy on my hunt I've seen fenders with quite bad setups, sloppy work and outright die. Quality of material on the other hand, dan uses lighter woods which normally appear only on FCS, the pickups are boutique so you get the whole small shop hand wound thing (as opposed to fenders that only appears on MB)

soundwise, the AVRI imho is more aggressive, has more bite, and harsh, you can turn it down by reducing the tone knob but you sacrifice a bit of clarity there. that being said, cause the AVRI has a tone knob with the neck pup, its more versatile out of the box. the dano on the other hand has that "twangy tele" sound, you can hear the butterscotch blonde from a mile away, blind folded and six feet under.

for the both id say, if you can manage to find a good AVRI, not too picky about 10-20% diff in tone, get that. if you want to get THE tele sound, get the dano. i also think AVRI is the most cost ineffective of them all, a suhr/nash is cheaper and are FCS quality.

if you want we can meet at the oracle and i bring the dano, that would be the best for you to get an opinion
