Between these two HU, if you want very clear sound, go for eclipse otherwise ... you can go for alpine.

The last time, I tested these two players ... and eclipse was too "clear" for me. I did not bought the CDA-9856R but I bought a CDA-9853 which is a 2005 model. Both of this player sounds almost the same but I just wanted the built in crossover.

Actually all these player will fit your vios, if you're using the high line specs, you just need to buy a cover(dunno wut you call it) to cover up the other half of the hole.
