hey guys lvl 27 hunter here.. any tips for xyor the unwed solo? ppl advise to stay in the top room and clear the waves until he/she spawns, but those pesky wizards teleport away before i can deal enough damage to finish them off. or if anyone wants to join me for the strike that'd be great

btw, i've been playing for almost a month now and all i've got is two legendary engrams, one of which was a cloak .. is this normal?

Yeah quite hard to get good loots from the drops (Rustburners anyone? haha). So far i only have one legendary weapon from one of the two engrams i got. The rest of my gear was from completing strikes, weekly strikes and bought from the vanguard mentor dude (cayde-66 i believe). I suck at crucible, so getting the 500 points from void damage kills for the thorn bounty was a real nightmare haha.

I'll try the rock trick again, the last time i tried that i got creamed by the knights.. somehow they shoot me although i was hiding there. But that could be because i was impatient and hid there before clearing the initial wave.

Ive tried the room trick, but maybe because i lack a good solar weapon its kinda difficult to chip the wizards' shields. My only good weapon is patience and time bought from xur, which deals arc damage. Plus the darn shrieker keeps popping up every 30 seconds or so. I'll try the rock trick mentioned by isr25 first, if still cannot i'll hit you guys up. Thanks

And by hiding there you have a very good chance of keeping yourself alive, leaving your teammates to respawn as much as they want . but i wonder if you actually need to kill xyor yourself or if it counts if your teammates kill him/her.

And yeah, wizards are a pain cause they always hide when their shield goes down .

I was waiting for ice breaker to be sold by xur, but he sold patience and time . I bought it anyway cause at the time i only had rare weapons, my best was a rare handcannon. After i bought it i got the Lord High Fixer from one of my two legendary engrams so far . Really hope to get an ice breaker soon, the regenerating ammo perk really suits my playstyle since i favor sniping. I have a scout rifle that picks ammo up when you shoot them, quite useful when sniping so im using it as my primary for now. That's how i soloed the weekly heroic nexus strike

oh dude tell me about it.. when i did it my best void was a fusion rifle, charge time so slow, kept getting creamed in close range . or you can find someone to let you kill them 100 times

when u soloed xyor, what level were you and weapons u used?

it was a rare random drop, one of those blue engrams.. but the perks are randomly generated, i had a sniper rifle which did that but i accidentally dismantled it. I think my scout rifle is called 'naraka' or 'acheron' something. If you like you can add me - 'unif1end' on psn. im currently using it as my primary for solo strikes.

EDIT : sorry now i remember by scout rifle is called 'rainmaker v4'

By luck i got another exotic bounty yesterday, and chose the 'a dubious task' one. First requirement was to finish 5 strikes without dying. No problemo. The next was to get a K/D spread of 25 points in crucible (1 kill is 1 point, 1 death is minus 1 point...) i immediately cursed the gods and jumped right into skirmish. After like 40 mins, my K/D spread was only 1

I dont mind playing crucible, its one of the exciting parts of the game but i feel that Bungie should remove or at least lessen the death penalty for exotic bounties. Maybe balance it out by increasing the points required to complete the task. Otherwise it would be a nightmare for people who consistently have a higher death ratio than kills.

Oh anyone here using bad juju? i just got the bounty and completed it yesterday, but haven't leveled it yet. I heard alot of people say its bad. Any experience using it on PvP / PvE? So far i have invective (thanks to sifus here who gave me tips for crucible ) leveled to the regen ammo perk, and bad juju. Still stuck at thorn bounty though

haha really? im still stuck at the xyor the unwed strike mainly cause of heavily shielded enemies. I can tapau wizards with my invisibility + invective close range combo but during the second wave they're accompanied by knights, and together they pound me into oblivion. Tried hiding under the rock at the edge of the map but the knights still get me with splash damage. Staying in the room upstairs, i can't deal enough damage to the wizards before they teleport (due to the knights bodyguarding plus the shrieker that spawns, close range is almost certain death). Man if i had that icebreaker...


Yea the insta+free reload is nice, technically if used well you should have near infinite ammo. But with a 15 round magazine, you'd have to be very precise with your shots otherwise its only useful for low-level mobs. Bungie promised a buff for thorn and juju, here's hoping they'll buff juju to a 21-24 round clip

I havent gone on any raids so far, so im wondering for normal VoG, lvl 28 hunter ok? i only have my chest armor and lord high fixer maxed. How long does it usually take to finish a raid?

ah that's fine.. i thought it'd take like 3 hours or something lol. I should have a void fusion, but im not sure at what level it is currently. I've been focusing on leveling my legendaries, and usually discard any rare weapons i get. Does raid have the same modifier as nightfall? where if the team dies everyone is booted to orbit..

phew~ if boot to orbit i think there will be alot of damaged ps4/xbones.

yea i guessed that for raid mic is essential. Just had a look at the guide for VoG.. wow i didnt know it was so complicated. My main concern is my character equipment, and my headset. I only have the default ps4 headset, and i did a nightfall strike with leolaisg and alinitkin if im not mistaken. Had difficulty hearing them on the headset. Need to get a better one soon.

i'll tinker around once i get back.. hopefully we can run a raid soon.. and hopefully rngesus will reward me with one icebreaker

solo-ed my first weekly heroic lvl 28 yesterday, now i have enough coins to buy 2 exotics plus extra from xur on the weekend .

Btw what do you guys predict xur will sell or anything in your wishlist? read somehwere that he sells exotic weapons in turns like primary > special > heavy. If that is true, then this week could be an exotic primary since last week was a heavy..
