I got the upgrade notification too, but I will do it after 6 months.
See how public response to it first.

I've got two PC, one running native and the other running under vmware. Only the one running native has that Win10 upgrade notification. Both running Win7 Pro.

why you need to downgrade back 8 after upgrade windows 10 (since it is free to download for upgrade within a year "forever used", after 1 year past by these didn't upgrade will need to buy), well not sure if you want to reinstall back to windows 10 need purchase key or not after 1 year is the question

for now, it's a limited time free upgrade offer. i suggest you test it out first with insider previews in vm (use virtualbox for instance).

i also have a question...

A year of free upgrade.... or a year of usage?

After upgraded, used for a year, expire it's license, buy new to continue?

OR

After upgraded, used for as long as you like?

Surely, it's activation it's gone. Windows 8.1 keys won't work on it, i guess.

It is a smooth transition from 8.1 to 10. No need to reformat/ re-install. If your W8.1 key is genuine, it'll work.

Managed to do a clean install using the build 10130 ISO. Had to reformat the partition. Encountered some driver plproblems and to reinstall my Realtek HD audio and Nvidia GT840M drivers. Otherwise all good.

Haven't had time to play around with yet though.

yeah just report them all. i am using the same build. to me the main problems are system bugs (or rather driver bugs for this computer), while everything else is working fine. it's rated as 0 issues when i reserved my w10 upgrade.
