In Windows 8.1, you click on the setup.exe in the downloaded Windows 10 folder to start the upgrade process.

You don't need to enter any keys during the upgrade process.

Guys, does anyone having problem playing online streaming video? E.g YouTube. I couldn't make the video play. Nothing happens after I click the play button. Buffering is ok though. I've tried chrome and Firefox, all couldnt play at all. Windows edge did play but super duper laggy.

yes. make sure your w8.1 is activated first. the computer must be connected to internet during upgrade, starting from you clicking the setup.exe until you boot into new os successfully. once in new windows, connect to internet and it will activate itself.

many reasons. hardware still under validation; bad net; overloaded servers; etc. you can check out the faqs, http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/Windows-10-faq

if you're tech savvy, just use media creation tool to do it manually.

I seems to have issue with UI scaling gone haywire on first startup - where I need to restart once everytime I boot up my PC, to actually get the UI to be scaled properly.

GPU: R9 280X
Screen / resolution: Samsung TV / 1080p
Actual desktop resolution with Virtual Super Resolution (VSR): 2560x1440
Driver: Catalyst 15.7.1
Desktop scaling setting: 100%

How come? hmm.gif Never had such problem before on my old PC monitor though (which is now broken).

that's the generic key for w10 home. i did w10 home for some machines previously. it worked :/

edit: wait. you said your windows version is w8.1 single language? https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=76010929

if that's the case i think you're using the wrong windows version. you should download w10 home single language to match your w8.1 (the generic key should end with 6F4BT)

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...on-tool-install there is a table showing the matching windows versions.

please confirm your windows version. maybe we have found the actual problem. (although it's weird that you could run setup.exe to upgrade. this is because it will show the product key dialog instead of starting upgrade process directly when the os do not match)

besides ccleaner, you can also try wise regcleaner, https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/909723 run reg cleanup and system tuneup.

user is discouraged from modifier the registry as it is unsafe and may break something if do incorrectly. fyi, microsoft is not support and against the use of registry cleaner.
