Car got bang in fasting month. Done police report and confirm not my fault. Send to panel for repair n done. Now want to do lou claim. By the time send repair, another party insurance is aig. Then yesterday the panel help prepare the lou claim document, i notice the other person change the insurance already. Will it be any hassle doing the lou claim at the previous insurance company?

I have a situation.

My wife's car got hit from behind. Minor dent.

The guy who hit was not owner.. driving his uncles car.

The uncle came to the scene of accident.. he had walkie talkie in his hand. we Took pictures and phone number but the guys refused to share IC and license. Die die say number plate is enough. And when my wife asked again he became aggressive and shoved the IC in her face and warned her "only for you to see, happy now?"

He said will settle if affordable if not asked us to claim insurance. He even asked us to go to his own workshop in batu caves to fix the car. Make it sound almost like they are syndicate in PJ to cause accident and generate business for his workshop.

Now I'm worried we cant claim the insurance since the owner and the driver is different. What if the car has no 3rd party insurance?

How is the best way to resolve this? We otw to police station to make report.

Car got banged at the back 2 days ago...bumper need change and also bonet need ketuk back...sent to authorised body shop, say will claim OD knock for knock first then reimburse back from the wrong party's insurance

But still expect around 1.5 months for car to be serviced completely

Is that the proper procedure?

that is some f up explanation..

theres no such thngs as claims from the culprit's insurer.

Third party claim = go to any workshop, workshop appoint adjuster and lawyer, claim repair cost laywer fees adjuster fees from third party insurer. then third party insurer will assess and ask permission from YOUR insurance to pay the agreed amount. YOUR insurance give clearance, third party will pay the workshop laywer adjuster fees. Then third party insurer will ask YOUR insurer to reimburse back to them. NCD not affected.

OD KFK = go to panel workshop, YOUR insurance appoint adjuster, assess and approved repair. once repaired, YOUR insurance pay adjuster workshop. thats it. NCD not affected. process is simpler. hence faster.

if the accident is only minor damage, then it is best to settle on the spot ie ask the other party to pay the damage upfront. But there is also a risk that tre workshop may charge us more than what we ask for later.

If the damage is more serious one, then go ahead to report to police and claim insurance. I personally find that insurance claiming process is pretty lengthy and take out some of personal time. And it need both parties to make police report.

Kindly comment if I am wrong. There is pro and cons on both approaches.
