With Maxis and SenQ already teasing, 60% of me is saying we will join these 2 countries for the 3rd wave of iPhone 6/6+. I wouldn't say that stocks will drop to zero when launching in China and India, Malaysia might have a small enough market to fit.

+1

if we follow previous 5S rollout, we will be in 3rd batch. SIRIM ready, telcos teasers, etc. i think almost certain...China stock already allocated for 1st batch launch waiting approval only

Things I don't really like:
1) The design. I'm still stuck with 5s-being-the-best-looking-iphone-yet thing.
2) The colours. Wished that there is a black front and silver housing. Liked the space grey on the front but not the housing. Prefer silver housing.
3) Stick out camera lens. Have to get thick casing to protect it also.
4) It'll randomly respring for no reason (when using suddenly just show apple logo and refresh)
5) BSOD (yes, it exists on iPhones too)
6) not really a fan of the front display. Can't really get perfect fit screen protectors (C2US, wait for me i'll be back to get the IMOS)
7) touch-ID. i have sweaty palms and fingers and most of the time it doesn't work.
8) it doesn't feel special enough.

Agree about the design, looks too much like the less premium iPod Touch, maybe Jony Ive too busy with the stupid watches and when asked to redesign the iPhone he just recycle his iPod Touch.

Like what this designer wrote

Anyway, will get both for development, no choice new resolutions.

I expect to see 2GB of RAM in 6S model tho.

Some says iOS is very optimized and battery efficient that 1 GB is sufficient. I partly agree with this but I do think it's not sufficient for me as my most used app is Safari with multiple tabs open all the time and they are constantly refreshes because of lack of RAM.

And I do think Apple is not stingy giving us a barely minimal 1GB, I think it's caused by shortage of worldwide RAM supply that forces them to remain at 1GB because the number of units that need to supply way more than other manufacturer. Victim of own success case.

Mercury browser is so much better than Safari. You won't see the multiple tab issue

Ya but I am not comfortable with third party browsers or keyboards because of sensitive data while browsing

I had used all the iPhone's from first model till ip5 ( skipped ip5s) and was never impressed with iphone
After getting this ip6+ must say still still not impressed. Why are there so many fans clamouring is best smartphone? Given a choice my favorite is still Android
My keyboard suddenly hung 3 times just over 4 hours usage! I had just installed about 20 app n will connect to my MAC back home to installed rest of the app
This ip6+ is positively less smooth vs previous ip5.

From history, iOS usually need several points releases before all the bugs are crushed and Apple is still not as good as Google in term of server side technology, albeit a more polished overall software implementation. For example, the speed of list view for AppStore compared to Play Store or Siri vs Google Now. But they are improving each day and so does Google advances.

Being an app developers and been using both Android and iOS for long periods of time, I still prefer iOS because of 3 simple reasons:

1. UI/UX polish and consistency both Apple own apps and third parties apps

2. Day 1 latest software update

3. Beautiful IOS only apps like from Panic and Omni

Of course, there are still many little details that made up that decision

But this is ONLY for me and I completely agree and understand with other who think Android is better for them - eg. Those who like to tweak, install custom ROMs, preferences over top specs like 2K display, more RAM, less concern over UI aesthetics etc.

Over the years I'm always excited to buy a new iPhone but not this time not so sure, a bit dilemma after playing with my friends iPhone 6 and 6+, and using back my 5S. The 5s size feels so much better for me and looks more elegant especially the back. And for my daily usage, the speed bump is not really noticeable as 5s already plenty fast for me, the camera also marginally better. Only difference is the bigger screen estate that ironically makes me slower in doing my normal tasks because of reach. Tough to decide, wait for 6S.??? Anyone here got same thought?

If I were to get iPhone 6 it will be space grey, I like how the curved edges blend with the black border, very slick but I do wish Apple comes out with pure black phone though like Xperia.

For silver too normal boring looking to me, though it has the benefit to retain its colors cause thats the metal original color.

For Gold, I've been using gold 5s too long already a bit bored and I don't like the more yellowish gold in 6 compared to the more elegant and subtle champagne color in 5s.

########

On 6 or 6+, I will definitely go for 6+ because for my work testing of 3x graphic and the longer lasting battery. 6 size not substantially bigger compared to 5s, not worth the upgrade. The only concern I have with 6+ is the GPU handling of the scaled down graphic back to 1080p, occasional rendering lag for certain screen refreshes (normal average users will not notice this I think) and the blurred out 1 pixel lines when scrolling because of the scaled down graphic (only crazy meticulous person like me notice, non issue for everyone on Earth)...remember the first iPad with retina (3rd gen) quite similar issue, which I'm sure will be resolved in 6s+ next year

crap, hmmm how about google chrome? is it because not enough ram? i usually open alot tabs on my s3 then read them later on..

The 1GB RAM smile.gif

Even those with 3rd party browsers that you think it's not refreshing, they are actually just hacked frozen state shots (cached) and not "live". The reason Safari refreshes is Apple's decision to give you the actual live version when you switch to the tab.

Browser tabs uses lots of memory, you ll know this by checking your desktop Chrome browser (major memory hog) for each tab. It's technically impossible to have unlimited amount of open "live" tabs with a measly 1GB RAM browser. Even the silly looking Blackberry Passport got 3GB RAM

I never use Chome coz Safari is faster in iOS.

I think it's the same, what can you expect for 1GB RAM  sweat.gif

Safari used to be faster than all third party browser like Chrome but no longer the case with ios8 as Apple has open up the super fast Nitro engine API for every apps to utilize, so parity has reached in term of rendering speed after iOS 8

They could have at least went with 1.5gb. I think even this small increase will matter when it is needed. Most likely the S series might have more ram.

The first iOS device to have 2GB ram to be next week Ipad Air update. I guess subsequent iOS devices like Iphone 6s will follows this looking at Apple history

I am using SwiftKey as alternate keyboard which I much preferred over Apple keyboard
Only disadvantage iPhone doesn't allow you to make it permanent. However once you choose SK as alternative it will stay as such on the app. Other app you need to reset
And it all goes back to default after a restart
Was hoping ios8.02 will allow attachment or multiple of it in mail sending but still not available. Read is due to Apple closed file system. Always bother with this disadvantage n I need to use Goodreader to do such..Being a heavy email user this strongly turns me off
Haven't research much on alternative mail app that allow this feature
*
If not mistaken, you can delete Apple keyboard from the list and keep only Swiftkey. Haven't try because not comfortable with using 3rd party apps (despite all their claim of privacy etc, I'm bit paranoid)

I find myself type faster with Apple keyboard as I type with both hand most of the time. If one hand Swiftkey faster.

######

I think with ios8 Apple has introduced a file sharing system that works not just between iOS devices but also Yosemite mac. It's safer than old traditional file system sharing with advanced sand boxing feature. Now it's up to app developers to incorporate the document sharing features in their app. Most of them are waiting for end of this month release of Yosemite. Great apps like Transit works perfectly utilizing this feature.

Weird bug never seen before. I've never used credit card for iTunes purchase, all using US Store gift card credit with more apps available.

Don't understand why some users harping on whatsapp on ip6+. It looks fine to me

[attachmentid=4168532]
I think you can't tell much the blurriness from screenshot as the screenshot is captured at 6+ native resolution at 2208x1242pixels (3x) while the screen display resolution is scaled down to 1920x1080pixels (with antialiasing that causes the blurriness). You can see jagginess instead for apps that are yet to optimize for 3x in 6+ screenshot.

For most users, they will not notice the difference and it's not as bad as the previous non retina to retina iPhone 4 apps. Scale up then scale down (6+) always looks better than just scale up (non retina) because you have more information (data) in the graphic. The only drawback is this method uses more GPU power. Thanks goodness this only applies to UI and not video playback or games in 6+

No need to sad sad la, later batches have the benefits of resolved hardware issues from the rushed initial waves like the camera issues for both 5 and 5s.

For me, if I were really going to get the crazy 3K++ for 6+, delay longer better wallet this month burn big hole already with new MBP.
