QUOTE(lex @ Sep 28 2014, 03:51 PM)
First and foremost, opening a sales thread specifically to sell Steam games thru the Steam Gifts method is against Steam's terms of service. Quote from Steam Gifts - Trading and Gifting - Knowledge Base - Steam Support...

Second, that is why we have a Stream trading thread in this forum: Entertainment -> Gamers Hideout -> Steampowered and Valve Games -> Steam Trading Thread V2, Still trading gifts? as not to violate that Steam terms of service, through direct trading. Thus by opening a sales thread specifically to sell those Steam Gifts clearly violates their terms of service.

Third, its clear as day that the thread starter is not an official appointed Steam game reseller. The official authorised resellers are: Amazon.com, Game.co.uk, Gamefly, GamersGate, PlayAsia, etc. And the thread starter's shop is not in this list.

Fourth, these Steam Gifts still fall under game accounts as well as game items. Each game "sold" is its own account and that includes the unique activation code/key allocated to that game. This is similar to selling activation code/keys for Microsoft products (which is illegal and can be legally pursued by the BSA and Microsoft themselves). This is the reason we have this: **Gamers Hideout Rules and Regulations**, Return to the forum...And also Trade Zone -> Garage Sales Helpdesk -> Resource Centre -> [RULES] Trade Zone Rules & Etiquette, Do read this from time to time # Prohibited items...And these specifically relates to games bought online. These does not apply to games bought in retail boxes/packages from shops and/or as second hand items.

Whatever the fact that may be (Steam's TOS), it does not apply to this forum. The rules here are against reselling Steam accounts and not Steam Games. Previous moderators have not found any fault with the other numerous Steam game resellers on this forum until lornawhizz decided to go on a reporting spree against his competitors. You are overreaching yourself by banning things which aren't stated in the rules just to cater to this one guy who himself is a reseller.

I only reported on darksider after he reported on me. I never reported on you or anyone else. Pls get your facts right.  mad.gif

Just because you decided to be an idiot in your spat with darksiders, the other resellers such as me are dragged into this. I have good faith that it'll be resolved eventually once the admins get involved for this overreach of power by this one moderator but you're the one who poked the bees nest. The blame is on you.

I don't know who else got affected but when I woke up this morning my most recent threads were gone doh.gif Turns out these two numbskulls were behind it all. I dropped a PM to all relevant moderators/admins asking wtf was going on but I have yet to receive a reply. Apparently you need to post a complaint publicly before anyone bothers rclxub.gif

Edit: See this quote here:

*Done, unless reported no action taken. Usually I do not attend those sections closely but due to recent stream of reports.
These two idiots were behind it all reporting each other's threads. I'm pretty sure the moderator is mistaken in his interpretation of the rules (can't blame him, the rules are in a foreign language; English, after all rolleyes.gif) and that our businesses comply with the rules but it is freaking inconvenient to have to deal with this and the loss of information on a weekend. Just because these two kids can't deal with each other they have to drag everyone else into the crossfire. Apis_lualua did not clamp down on this even though it was going on for years. He's the head honcho of the tradezone and he posted in one of my threads asking me to fix my title. That's all. He didn't point out that my (or anyone else's) game sales threads were against the rules. He should know best after all. Like I said, this guy is wrong in his interpretation. It'll get fixed when someone higher up gets online. Seeing as how it's a weekend, it's gonna take awhile.

Dear all,

After some debate among the moderating team, we have decided to allow selling of Steam Games as long as it doesnt violate our TOS/R&R

However do take note that selling of gaming accounts are still prohibited. Do help us mods to report those forumers who violate this Rule.

Cheers!
