Someone disagrees on your tattoos is it?

But let's try to do this rationally shall we?

Tattoo is still a taboo to most professional jobs. I have a friend who got to the final stage of interview, for a world class symphonic show, but was not picked because of her tattoo.

Sure, you can cry foul all day and blame oldfarts for being narrow minded, etc. But it's not going to help your cause? Yes, professionals still discriminate against inked people. If you want to get a tattoo, please understand and accept the repercussions. And don't do it in such an obvious place like your neck or forearm, unless you're the #YOLO or #TATTOO4LYFE type.

Singapore a lot of Malays have tattoos whether men or women. Not the religious types la of course.

And I meant tattoos in open areas like wrists, lower leg, upper breast, neck etc. Places where your casual clothes can't hide.

SG people don't really care about it. In fact I think most of the heavily tattooed people I see commonly in SG are Malays.

I don't believe that Malay thinks another Malay is 'evil' just because he has a tattoo. Maybe think of him as less religious or even rebellious.
Either way, I don't think MY is so hardcore to force Malays to remove their tattoos. But maybe discourage or even worse punish them.

But you have to live with the stigma la if you want to put ink on your skin.

Maybe your future wife might not like it, your in laws might not like it, your own family not like it etc.
Even for Chinese also depend on what tattoo you put. IF tiger, dragon, etc. always people will say you are gangster la etc. If you put butterfly, no one will care.

Not all Chinese parent like their kids getting tattoos as well since its associated commonly with gangsterism.

But modern tattoos these days are more for decoration rather than meaning. So I guess nowadays more acceptable to put tattoos even for conservative families children.

I think a few friends of mine kinda regret putting like devil faces, skulls, gore tattoos etc. coz while it looked cool then, it's f***ing ugly man after 15 years looking at it everyday. 

Wrist is actually an open area. Hard to cover. Meaning these tattoos are meant for show. If you are Muslim and don't mind explaining yourself frequently...

But me not Muslim, so do not know how a mosque community treat tattooed people.

My friend is Chinese convert with quite a few tattoo, surely during washing up in the mosque before prayer sure all the 'devil, gore' tattoos be seen. Never asked him before if he kena tegur before or not. But he still has his tattoos so...

To be recognized/considered a malay u have to be muslim .. its like in the rules or something..cant remember which.

Anyway for me tattoo is like a no no for me.. artistic design or not it just in my own honest opinion destroy the look of a person. And for me its already clear its a no no in religion as well. open minded or not when it comes to religion you cant just make your own rule.
