i'll try to explain from my own understanding/theory

BB can be classed into 3 types - Attack, Buff & Heal.
Attack/Offense BB - BB that deals damage
Buff/Support BB - BB that powers up all units, may be Atk Up, Def up, etc
Heal BB - Well, heal?

attack BB fodder can be farmed almost anywhere on the map. most mobs have Attack BB anyway i.e Witch Liza BB Eruption
among the most commonly used location to farm Attack BB fodder is Wielder of Fire in Mistral.
BB lvling is entirely on luck - elements or types doesn't play a part in this AFAIK
Buff BB fodder common hunting ground is Riotous Thunderbird in St Lamia
Heal BB is usually farmed in Beneath the Cascade in Cordelica.

Farming areas may differ for each player, the one i listed down are the ones that gave me most of the desired BB fodder.
for SBB leveling, the same method applies, but since most SBB have 2 effect, the first one takes priority for leveling.
For example -
Alice's SBB Blood Raiser is an Attack/Heal type. Since it deals damage first, we'll have to feed it Attack BB fodder instead of Heal BB fodder.
Michele's SBB Meggido Cross is an Attack/Buff type. Same method applies. Unlike her BB which feeds on Buff fodder, her SBB deals damage first so for SBB we'll feed her Attack fodder instead.

plus we can now see which units will give a chance to level up BB while fusing.
it is advised to farm low level BB fodders to slow down the leveling process.
this is to prevent high costing fusion (higher level units costs higher)

tbh, let me just say that i'm not such a hardcore vocaloid fan
the only ones that i listen to is miku and luka anyway
miku for the cute n touching songs (i.e Cactus and Mirage, The World is Mine) and luka for the dark songs (i.e Dancer in the Dark)
i am however quite a hardcore otaku gamer though
so most merchandise that i buy from comicon are mostly related to animes only
i've spent a lot for gaming purposes too (including Brave Frontier )
so u can be sure that i'll be playing this game for a long time
the reason i wanted luka so bad is because i'm a collector
