Hi everyone, here's my crayfish story

I kept a crayfish for 2 years, it was very fascinating as the creature seemed to have a personality of its own!
I kept it with a pet chiclid and instead of eating it they became attached to each other, so much so during water changes, the chiclid would swim into the protective arms of the crayfish when it retracts into it's "cave" - a coffee mug with a broken handle .
One day the chichlid died and the crayfish started getting bored i think, because it climbed out of the tank more than 10 times despite me securing the plastic tank cover.
I found it wandering around the house when waking up a few times before washing it and putting it back in the tank.
It died recently of natural causes. I tried to preserve the carapace as a memory of this amazing pet but couldn't... thanks for this thread, it really brings back good memories.
I intend to start rearing another crayfish soon... will share more by then ... keep up the interest guys!
