Thank you! I am currently considering Total War:Shogun instead of Shogun 2. Total War: Shogun has alot of DLC's and has STCs. I also prefer sword,spears and bow wars instead of modernized weapons? especially in the japanese war game setting

The DLCs are cheap now but if you haven't gotten the core Rome 2 at this point, you might as well just wait till Winter sales and see if CA sells it all in a Rome 2 pack/GOTY version instead. I gotten Rome 2 earlier so will have to pick the DLCs individually which is quite pricey if I wanna be calculative.

If I recall correctly, it comes free with my Fall of Samurai (I gotten Shogun 2 separately first) but in case if you need to buy it, I don't think that it is necessary with the amount of things to do/play in the core game itself. However, to note, the battle scenarios is not bad though nothing groundbreaking. Some of the battles require you to make fast actions which is quite exciting but you will often be volleying the cannon or sneaking around with your troops.

If you are not a collector or not planning to play Napoleon (so-so) / Medieval 2 (not bad years ago) / Empire (which is awesome), then I would recommend waiting till Winter. It is cheap but unless you really wanna play Rome 2 and don't want to wait, I don't see the appeal to buy it now.

If I am in your shoes and haven't gotten Rome 2 right now, I would wait till Winter before I splurge. Just my 2 cents
